@xyz. true, it's not that the album itself is anything special, but it can't be overlooked, given that it brought about a revolution. Without it, hundreds of masterpieces wouldn't have existed. Historically, it's extremely important, radical, and revolutionary, even if, when listened to today, it almost makes you smile.
