When Scaruffi heard "Twis Infinites" by Royal Trux, he considered it a masterpiece, even superior to the superb "The Good Son" by Nick Cave, which was released the same year. All the critics, who despised or ignored this album, called him crazy. Today, this album is considered a masterpiece by many. The same critics who had disdained it, if they haven't forgotten, now regard it as a masterpiece. This discourse could be identical for dozens of other albums that critics have rediscovered or are rediscovering. Regardless of whether you agree with his opinions or not, you cannot deny that he discovered masterpieces before they were acknowledged as such, that he had brilliant insights, and that he was always a step (a staircase?) ahead of any other critic who, for example, still gets influenced by stupid trends. His criterion for judging an album independently of its success and recognition, but only by its actual artistic value, has ensured that his ratings have endured over time. Any other critic, once country music goes out of fashion, will have recommended 30 country albums that no one remembers today. Scaruffi will have recommended just one of those 30, and it will be the only one remembered 20 years later.

@MuffinMan <<You may have written much more than in the other review, but 90% of your review doesn’t talk about the album>>. So what? Is it really that important for the review to talk about the album? It seems to me that everything possible has already been said about this album... damn, every time someone tries to write an original review, you guys tear it apart. You know, the usual descriptive review that analyzes the album track by track gets old pretty fast (specifically, there are only two tracks, but the concept is the same)... no, it’s not for me... great review, I’ll add it to the recommended ones...

Avril Lavigne The Best Damn Thing

I have every right to give it a rating even without having listened to it, and I have every right to rate it without having read the review. Why? Because we're talking about Avril Lavigne. Why should I waste my time listening to a record like that? Trust me, I wouldn’t be voting "randomly," but I would have listened to the album if I had read even one person, just one, say that Avril Lavigne has stopped making stomach-churning songs. Since I’ve heard the two albums before this one (something horrible), since everyone confirms that the quality is the same and no one says otherwise, since the MTV single has been getting on my nerves for months, I can rate the album without having to listen to it. And the review, since it praises such an album, without having read it.

I've always been curious about them, but I've never listened to them; what do you think, is it worth it?

Moore, like Grillo, is one of the few who understands something about it.
