Uhm, I still haven't listened to it. Let's hope you're right.

One of the most played discs in my player from 2011. Also seen live. The tracks stick to your brain and don’t go away. That’s not small change these days.

Seen in Codroipo. Beautiful but they didn't excite me (unlike what happened this past summer with Portishead and Sigur Ros), immaculate but cold, very little emotional engagement despite the stunning scenery (which, however, overshadowed the music). Some of the tracks from the latest albums (which I don't know) didn't convince me. I wasn't expecting more, anyway.

I know them, I have the album and it's amazing, live they rock even harder.

Finally, a review for this little masterpiece.

NO NO and NO! (For me, the album remains one of the most beautiful of the 2000s)

The previous one was a masterpiece; I have some reservations about this one, but I hope I'm wrong.

On the Codeine Facebook page, this announcement appears today: "with the exception of a possible ATP show in japan in november, tonight's NYC show will be the FINAL CODEINE PERFORMANCE EVER."

I saw them in Padua the day before. A unique experience of total auditory and visual psychedelia. Thinking about the impossible, I would have still preferred a concert without special effects but with tracks from the first 4-5 albums, and maybe from the last one, unjustly overlooked. For me, the Flaming Lips are still those.

"Good evening, We are Codeine from New York City", and part "D", along with my shivers. Seeing them was a dream I never thought could come true. You rightly say ā€œno poses, no star attitudes.ā€ I was thinking exactly that two nights ago while, dragged by friends to a Pulp concert just 5 minutes from my house, I was bored watching Jarvis act like a whore on stage for an hour and a half, cheered on by the frenzied crowd. I would have cheered for Stephen, but that would have been a lack of respect towards him. This kind of artist deserves to be appreciated in silence and with a few surreptitious tears. Two opposing ways of understanding music, and I don’t need to tell you which of the two I appreciate more. (Thank you Don for doing the review at the end)
