Pale Saints In Ribbons

The dream pop side of shoegaze. Finally, someone has reviewed this little masterpiece. For me, it’s worth 5 stars though.

I fell in love with them just by seeing them live, almost by chance, in a nice little place in Padua that I often go to. Beautiful page, beautiful record.

I Ride are quite underrated today, considering that back then they sold much more than MBV and Slowdive. Moreover, it seems to me that there’s still no review here of "Going Blank Again," which is a masterpiece almost on par with "Nowhere." I don’t agree with the derogatory tone of the current shoegaze revival in the review (which has brought some quality things, including the two bands you mentioned), nor with the idea that dream pop is a simplification of shoegaze.

I don't agree with the idea that "if someone hasn't passed the test of history, there might be a reason for it." Or rather, there may be a reason, but it often has little to do with intrinsic quality and more with other factors. The album in question is worth listening to, especially for fans of the genre. 5 stars might be a bit too much, but 4 are just right.
Siouxsie And The Banshees Nocturne

It's a shame about the setlist that overlooks some masterpieces from the early albums in favor of a few rather bland tracks from the later ones.
A Classic Education Call It Blazing
Voto:
5 stars are definitely too many, but nice album, fresh as you say, catchy pop without being trivial. I’ve seen them live a few times as well.
Woven Hand The Laughing Stalk

Go and dig up 16 Horsepower though.
