<<the album is easy to listen to without boredom taking over>> oh dear... I basically agree with your judgment on the record, but you could have spent an additional 5 minutes to put down something more dignified... nevertheless, a good recommendation.

For me, one of the best Italian prog albums. Too bad it's not easy to find.

Surely Yes are more paradigmatic of progressive compared to KC. If I had to introduce someone to progressive, I might start with Camel... better to take it one step at a time; Yes could provoke rejection crises ;) I started with Genesis and it "worked," but now they are far from being my favorite prog band.

"In The Land" is unreachable but still splendid, even if it may sound a bit more dated (but in the end, that's exactly why I like it ;)). The suite "Can't Be Long Now/Francoise/For Richard/Warlock" is sublime. What do you think about the albums that came after "In The Land"? I don't know them...

I'm happy to give this record a fifth star, I love it! Haslam's voice is incredible. Can you point me to another work by Renaissance that is at this level? "Ashes are burning"?

@bjork, of course you're right that King Crimson are the ones who strayed the most from the genre. And for KC, it would be more accurate to talk about 3 or 4 different bands, with very different musical proposals... surely the period of "Red" is the one that can be best appreciated by someone who's not a prog enthusiast. But really, do you save nothing from Italian prog? I think there's something good in it...

Bonny, if you were born in '91, at your age I hadn’t even heard of King Crimson and didn’t even know what prog was... you’re already way ahead of me ;) So no one will crucify you if you've never listened to "In The Court..." It's just that for those who know this stuff well, it seems natural that everyone should be familiar with a masterpiece like that... for a moment I was tempted to say “damn, this person doesn’t know King Crimson,” then I remembered that just a year ago I didn’t know them either ;);)

I completely agree with Björk. "In The Court Of The Crimson King," for instance, is a milestone of rock overall and is appreciated by many who don't love prog... just to say, Kurt Cobain (without wanting to make any comments about the person) considered it the greatest rock album in history... and Nirvana certainly weren't doing prog ;)
