@target, what you're saying is wrong :) The Unwound this year took the prize for the best programming in the Triveneto as far as I'm concerned. Regarding the final show, I think they always do (also in the link I included in the review) and as much as it's an old story as you say, I saw it as an ideal conclusion to a practically perfect show, both visually and audibly. @alè, let me know what you think later, although I don't believe this type of proposal is really in your wheelhouse. @franci, what you say is certainly true, but I don't think that everything derivative is bad, you just need to be aware of it. And it should be derivative in an "intelligent" way. @blech, what can I say about the Liars? They are animals on stage and have crazy sounds. I don't know them at all on record, in fact, I went in without high expectations and I came out thrilled and, incredible as it may sound, for once even my aforementioned friend agreed with me! @pixies, in what sense instinctive?

Thanks to all passersby! It’s nice to have intrigued someone and to know that others appreciated the record as much as I did. @target, it’s a shame we didn’t run into each other. To be honest, I thought I caught a glimpse of you outside the venue, but I wasn’t sure it was you. I’ve been hanging around Unwound a lot lately (I caught Liars last night, they were amazing), so maybe when you go back, give me a shout. @appe, yeah, in fact from what I understand, he IS the Death by Audio!

Yes, I repeat that I listened distractedly to the last 15-20 minutes of their performance, so my judgment doesn't carry much weight. I'll try to listen to something more. Dead Meadow are colossal, on record but even more so live as far as I'm concerned.

They opened for Dead Meadow on Saturday night in Brescia, I only half-heartedly caught the last 2 or 3 songs of their performance but they didn't seem anything that sensational. Dead Meadow buried them!

Marco, were you at Unwound last night? My friends dragged me there, but I found it so boring. They were good, no doubt, but so much muscle and little brain. A Place to Bury Strangers, whom I saw the night before, fried my brain and for me, they gave 2 or 3 tracks to these guys. Ciauz!

Group that kicks ass. Vegetale is a blast and even when they try to get a bit fancy, like in Nouvel Air, they hit the mark every time. I haven't listened to this one, but OK:KO, which collects live studio recordings or material from some concerts in Italy from the Ego:Echo sessions, kicks ass. I saw them live about a month ago, and they kick ass, plus they do it with great humility. In short, give them a listen.

Saw them last night in Padua, maybe it was because I was full of sambuca, but even if they had played the same groove all night long, I would have come out happy anyway!
