Sun Kil Moon April
Voto:
All very nice. On behalf of Sun Kil Moon, I also really loved Benji, at times truly moving. I can confirm from having seen him live several times that as a person he is truly unpleasant. By the way, a few years ago there were allegations of sexual harassment from various women, I don't know how that situation eventually turned out.

Finally got the CD, once impossible to find, for 6 euros (!) at their concert stall in Brescia, accompanied by Bartle. What more could you want? Ah, Elektrohash (the track) is fantastic!
Codeine Live @ Bologna, 31.05.12

In September, they resonate in Bologna, same place.
Buffalo Tom Let Me Come Over
Voto:
Certainly a nice record, some very remarkable tracks, as you pointed out. However, for my taste, it's a bit too clean and "perfect" (to quote you). I don't really feel much of Pixies and Dinosaur Jr. in it; at times it reminds me more of Afghan Whigs or even certain ballads from a certain "grunge." Maybe I should check out the previous one?
Laura Nyro and Labelle Gonna Take a Miracle
Voto:
I remember meeting Laura Nyro because "Gonna take a miracle" featured in a film I loved very much ("A Home at the End of the World," based on Cunningham's novel). A truly beautiful piece.
Squirrel Bait Skag Heaven

This thing that Grubbs forms the Bitch Magnet is a legend I've read often, but it's not true.

In line with the review, I consider the album one of the best examples of shoegaze, not as brilliant as Loveless, not as deep as Just for a Day, but with all beautiful tracks and a perfect balance between distortion and melody.
Pavement Watery, Domestic
Voto:
I would say that this EP condenses in about ten minutes or so the essence of Pavement's art. I would say it's their best moment alongside the album that preceded it by a little (and despite the excellent works that followed). However, I still miss the collection of the early EPs, which might even be better (if that's possible). The page perfectly captures that attitude.
Sebadoh Bakesale
Voto:
At one of their concerts, I bought a copy of this album and got it signed by Barlow, who wrote on the cover “my ass,” with an arrow pointing to the back of the kid. So I think your hypothesis is correct :) These Sebadoh are as cocky and apathetic as few, this seems to me their best album among those I know.
Low The Curtain Hits the Cast
Voto:
I’m sorry that this very beautiful page has received so few comments. Low are one of the bands I feel most connected to, and perhaps the one that gave me the most exciting concert of my life. This album is, in my opinion, not among their best, although it is still beautiful (after all, I don’t think they have ever made an ugly album). After the absolute masterpiece of the first and the appendix of the second (in which they reached the peak of darkness and the stripping down of sound), perhaps they were looking for new paths (here the sound becomes a bit stronger, the tension and slowness less exaggerated), succeeding with “Things We Lost in the Fire,” which marks for them a second pivotal moment, after the first (unattainable?) masterpiece.
