I also read the spoilers... How much fun did you have writing it, huh?! The plot seems like a tragic-dramatic-sentimental version of the lyrics from Elio e le Storie Tese in the good old days of "servi della gleba." With the only difference that the poor guy would have fared much better with a two of spades and a broomstick shoved, I won't say where because I'm a gentleman... I think I'll watch it: maybe it could be useful!

The review seems competent and detailed to me. I have seen and rewatched the film, but we are talking about centuries ago. I hold a pleasant memory of it but without peaks, with Sean Connery as Holmes dressed as a Franciscan. I read the book with pleasure, skipping over the historical/religious parts with a feline leap.
