I wouldn't feel comfortable being so critical about this album. It should also be evaluated in relation to the previous "Back Home," which was truly frustrating in its poverty. "Road to Escondido" is a celebratory album, intentionally devoid of any innovative premise. The review perhaps loses itself a bit in its overly polemical judgment. There is no trace of references to the tracks.

Thank you..the review helps me understand where Flores took his first steps. I've listened to the album very often. Can you tell me something more about "Max Supersoul," a track not signed by Flores but played masterfully? P.S.: Veltroni in his book mentioned that after Chet Baker's death, Flores had a severe panic attack...he thought he was solely responsible for the trumpeter's death.

Selling is the album that marks a perfect integration between classical and prog; there hasn't been a similar sonic blend after this album, without taking anything away from the subsequent the lamb. I absolutely disagree with those who say that Gabriel had a secondary role in the compositions.
