In my opinion, musically it’s one of their best, not to mention, almost on par with Paranoia and Potere; as for the themes, let’s not even get into that. Plus, I don’t see how anyone can talk about abandoning hardcore for a pop punk ska when most of the tracks are intense, with very raw sounds, less predictable structures (compared to the following albums), and there’s less room for ska.

Well, the vocals have never been as prominent as you say, especially in the albums before WoW. As for the rest, I don’t find the latest album less derivative than the others; if anything, I find it less inspired. I was starting to doze off during the Jennifer Gentle tracks, but maybe I should give their works a listen to form a judgment on them. Anyway, in the older albums, there was much more music and less vocals; just think of tracks like "Il Gulliver" without going too far back, theoretically, you should prefer them. I’ll listen to the album you mentioned by Jennifer ;)

The review is well-written but it talks too little about the album in my opinion; the album is stunning! I've been discovering it for a few weeks now and I'm really enjoying it.

In my opinion, for Motorpsycho 2.0, "Little Lucid Moments" (for the first two tracks, to be clear) is excellent, while Child of the Future and Heavy Metal Fruit are widely insufficient... however, the latter is a great album, perhaps the best since Let Them Eat Cake... actually, no doubt about it! The use of the orchestra is not 'conventional', but often purely noise-based and not invasive; the technical expertise of the three has increased tremendously, and I believe the songs are there: track 2 is a great piece showcasing their typical sound, just like in 'Into the Gyre' and the last track of the second album. I too have loved Trust Us immensely (I even wrote the review for it :D), Timothy, and so on up to Let Them Eat Cake, but I don't think that means I should hear that those who love Motorpsycho cannot appreciate this album... also because, by the way, a true fan of the old-school Motorpsycho knows that in their long career, they have never made an album of one genre identical to another.

for me it's a putrid shit; completely meaningless, super one-dimensional and above all it tries to be squishy at all costs, emphasizing it; an insult to people like the grateful dead, syd barrett, peter green who were truly squishy and composed masterpieces. PS: I was also unfortunate enough to see him live, a chilling experience.

Does anyone know if they will come back to Italy this year?

echoes and one of these days are worth a solid 5; there could have also been 'tra te e il mare' by Laura Pausini or some other crap in between, but they are worth a 5, without ifs or buts.

I prefer "Trust Us," even though it contains two of my all-time favorite tracks by Motorpsycho, like "The Wheel" and "The Golden Core."
