Korn The Path Of Totality

I think it's one of the most abominable things of the last (ten? twenty? one hundred and fifty?) years. This 2011 may have given birth to many beautiful things, but I believe I have never seen so much concentrated sludge in 365 days... Among this, the latest from Morbid Angel, Queensryche, "Lulu," these guys and a bunch of other crappy stuff, it's urgent to equip oneself with a lifeboat... Ah, dubstep as much as my ass. 1

Great job as always! Perhaps the best of the three... I couldn't make it, and I'm sorry, but strangely (considering the immense esteem I have for Opeth) not to the point of tearing my hair out.

Review that is nothing short of "historic"! As for the album... First listen: 'sta minkia, what a drag. Second listen: wow, not bad. From the third to nth listen: 'sta minkia, what a great album. It's not his best, of course, it’s quite heavy to digest (but then again, Tibet's music isn't supposed to be immediate!), and also the lyrics are overly visionary and convoluted (like in the subsequent "Aleph") which at times annoy me... Since I place a lot of importance on words, which are as integral to music as the instruments themselves, it bothers me that I can't grasp the meaning of what is being said... If I understood a bit more of these supercazzole about apocalypse et similia, I would also give it the highest rating. In any case, excellent.
Alcest Souvenirs d'un Autre Monde

I’m revisiting this after a few years. I’ve slightly changed my opinion since then, in the sense that it remains an excellent debut and contains some of Neige's best riffs and melodies/atmospheres, but I think it's hindered by a slight repetitiveness and a couple of tracks that, upon reflection, have never completely won me over ("Sur L'Autre Rive" and especially "Tir Nan Og," a bit too much goop). Overall, it’s very nice, but lately, I’ve come to prefer (if only just slightly) the next album, perhaps less cohesive but more mature, and "Le Secret" re-recorded. I didn't particularly appreciate the original version because it was marred by quite poor production and a less-than-perfect performance... The "new" version, on the other hand, is clear, clean, meticulous, and really shows the true nature of the two quintessential Alcest songs.

Skeletal, minimalist, flat, but perhaps that's what makes it fascinating. It goes down smooth as oil; it seems to be the exact opposite of the abrasive "Aleph" or the monumental and endless "Black Ships." Even in his less successful albums, Tibet always manages to bring out some truly interesting stuff. I'm not complaining; if only all uninspired albums were like this! 3.5

... Really? Yet I remember it as "just" a good album. Perhaps I didn't understand it and I need to listen to it again?

(I'm randomly posting the message here) But why do several reviews show that there is only one comment when there are actually more? It takes days to update...

As I've mentioned elsewhere, their EP didn't strike me as anything special, but I'll still be happy to give this full-length a chance, since it's still a genre I appreciate quite a bit...

A record that wouldn't be out of place at a funeral. Tibet's performance is truly moving. Everything is very beautiful, but for me, the previous ones (especially "Of Ruine..") remain unmatched...
