Sopor Aeternus & The Ensemble of Shadows Have You Seen This Ghost?

... For this reason, I still find the use of half balls/small stars very useful; between a poor pass and an excellent grade, there could be a "fair" in between. A 5 for you, especially for reminding me of the existence of "trasecolare"; at the Christmas Eve dinner, I will recycle it to make everyone at the table trasecolare.

Just finished the first record. Lots of great stuff, yes. Tomorrow, if I can carve out an hour between one book and another (sigh!), I'll also make the second one...
Agalloch Marrow Of The Spirit
Voto:
After a year of listening, I return here to say that it has become my favorite album by Agalloch. And so, one of my favorite metal records. I didn't think it was possible to surpass "Ashes Against The Grain"; and in fact, thinking about it, saying that it's better is still wrong: they are so different that putting them on the same plane would be misleading. These immense, dark, icy, compact, and tearing tracks (further weighted by the complete lack of clean vocals!) have little to do with the clear post-rockish digressions of "Ashes." Let alone with the even more ethereal and sprawling (neo)folk of "The Mantle." The fact is that since this album was released, I can't listen to anything else by Aga; it is simply... Perfect. Like all of their discography, after all.
Low Long Division
Voto:
Compared to the unparalleled debut, I find it a bit harder to listen to this one precisely because of those sounds that are so sparse and seemingly monotonous... But they are still the Low...

Average user of the site: here I am... I read double instrumental CD and I think that I've always liked double (but also triple and quadruple) albums regardless of the genre. Yum.

Ready for the lynching. I prefer (even if just a little) "Nature Unveiled"; this one just doesn't convince me, it sounds dated, and for example a Galàs in this kind of music (?) that is quite challenging seems much more impactful and expressive. Anyway, I've verified that the '80s period of Current, while I don't despise it (far from it), just isn't for me. I mean, yes, fundamental and experimental and avant-garde and as sick as you want, but once I've listened to it, I no longer feel the need to repeat the experience... It gives me a headache.

Uneasy, disturbing, delirious. But without your review to guide me, I would have understood very little and would have ended up underestimating/neglecting it. Beautiful page, with an ending that literally gave me chills, perhaps even more than the album itself; among the recommended. (the album gets a 4 leaning towards a 5)
