Red House Painters Songs For A Blue Guitar

And, in any case, the least successful album by RHP in my opinion is "Bridge."

It may be Kozelek's "ugliest" album, but I still can't help but love it... Too many tracks that I adore (almost all except "I Feel The Rain Fall," a bit out of place, and the covers "Long Distance Runaround" and "Silly Love Songs"). I consider it on the same level as the equally beautiful "Old Ramon."

Cute little disc but utterly negligible...
Diamanda Galas Plague Mass
Voto:
The most terrifying and shocking thing I have ever heard. The ultimate manifesto of Galàs, there are no words or votes to define it. A wonderful review that, instead of getting lost in useless (indeed) descriptions of a work that CANNOT be analyzed musically (as if it were music, among other things), perfectly frames it and offers many insights on how to interpret it - especially for those approaching this incredible artist for the first time and feeling a bit disoriented by the "genre."

I tried to watch it just last night. Maybe it’s because I’ve never been a cinema expert, but I couldn't even get through the first hour... It’s not that I despise these kinds of extraordinary films. I found it very tedious and excessively autistic, closed off in itself and in its own way of (not) expressing; sure, it’s filled with amazing shots and undeniably evocative sequences, but in the long run, it’s too pretentious. I understand very well that it’s a film-experience whose message/meaning doesn’t necessarily have to be understood, and indeed, I’m criticizing more the "how" than the "what." In my opinion, the incident that happened in Bologna is quite eloquent; it speaks more than any review or comment. And I’m sorry, because after all, it’s always nice to venture out and challenge oneself with a film that’s different from the usual slop they serve us on the big screen, but there’s a limit to everything... At least for my weak little stomach...

I really like "Circles" and "Feel Alive," and anyway, this is an absolutely lovely album... Just like her... Anneke, drop everything and marry me. <3

Reverend Bizarre III: So Long Suckers

Oh, in the end, I gave it a try. Just as I imagined: good, excellent ideas as always, just stretched to the extreme and diluted in excruciating timing. I don't disdain long tracks per se (if it comes to that, I enjoy indulging in ambient suites longer than an hour), but here they really wanted to overdo it. Much better than the two previous ones. From the way you talk about it, though, it doesn't seem like an album worthy of 4 marbles at all...
