If These Trees Could Talk Above the Earth, Below the Sky

To me, they seem quite dull. Good, atmospheric, poetic, but after twenty minutes of forest plin-plin-plin (??), I feel like crawling under the covers and taking a nap. Anyway, a must for the die-hard genre enthusiasts.

... Every now and then I like to sneak a peek at how the average ratings of albums change over time, especially when there are reviews that double up. In the case of this coaster, we went from 3.10 to 2.95 to 2.68, and now it's sitting at 1 point something... LOL.

For a while, I liked it a bit; then, I don’t know why, like all the rest of their discography, it just didn’t grab me anymore. Smoke in the eyes.

Unthinkable, as far as I'm concerned. And guess what: Nuclear Blast...
Steven Wilson Grace For Drowning

Cute, but a bit too scattered/fractured and still quite heavy to digest.

Thank you, flattered.

Mediocrity in spades. They've never really blown my mind, yet 1) I find them entertaining, and they don’t take themselves too seriously either, always maintained that unlike some satanic pandas they’re homegrown, they’ve always acted like fools and nothing more; 2) if they hadn’t released "At The Heart Of Winter," one of my favorite black metal albums, I’d hardly consider them, since the repertoire of "Battles" and surroundings has always left me indifferent.

This is not a beautiful album but a modest masterpiece.
