I intended to go see it, but the reviews and comments might make me change my mind. However, There Will Be Blood remains a masterpiece (the film is slow, it’s true, but it’s a bomb) and Magnolia is another great film. Dunno...?

Out of curiosity, I gave it a listen; the third song is actually listenable, but the other two (especially the second) are the same old crap. A pity score of 2.

I'll come off as a jerk or insensitive, but I've tried again and again with this album and it's always been the same old drag. It doesn't grow on me, it doesn't intrigue me, it doesn't excite me, it doesn't despair me, it doesn't tear me apart, it does nothing, I feel nothing. Not to mention the first two (which are still not my kind of thing), it ends up at the bottom of my personal Neurosis ranking. Still, this doesn't scandalize me; sooner or later it had to happen... Even giants stumble. And regardless of the outcome of this album (and any future ones, if there will be any), I'll never hold anything against Neurosis. 2.5

... I don't know, it's driving everyone I know on this site crazy; I liked it enough even if it didn't get me hard - overall I find the OM really good, there's not a single album of theirs that I find out of place, but I indulge in them rarely.

In my opinion (the view of a layman who knows almost nothing about the genre), what Bevan is doing lately is starting to no longer be "dubstep." It's become a thing of its own. And this new EP is simply wonderful; as already mentioned elsewhere, it’s much more sprawling but also darker and more evocative than usual. I feel like listening to it again...
