Dinosaur Jr. Beyond
Voto:
The album is stunning, but I don't agree with your version of events. The Dinosaur Jr. did not pick up right where they left off at all. In fact, the album, objectively incredible, is the exact continuation of Mascis’s solo career (just listen to "More Lights," for example) and Barlow’s (New Folk Implosion). The super-sonic incursions are no longer what they used to be, like "Little Fury Thing," but you can't play the same tune for twenty years. The guy who said that the predecessors of "Beyond" were limp-wristed is not wrong, but he happened to pick the wrong albums. However, this one is beautifully angry. The review is great too. It's a shame you ruined it by mentioning some bullshit groups of rich kids for rich kids (in rock, I mean) that have nothing to do with Dinosaur Jr., a true indie icon, as well as mine. I would have preferred if you had focused solely on Dinosaur. Anyway, I was convinced that this album would disappoint me, as I, raised on a diet of Dinosaur Jr., thought they had nothing left to say, and the hatred between Mascis and Barlow made this reunion smell of big money... but damn, it’s a great album and a great review too, a tough task when thinking about a great album. Cheers!

Everyone knew the album would be terrible, and there was no need to even listen to it. Sure, Steve Albini can't work miracles, and neither can Mike Watt. What were you expecting? It was obvious.
It's just that Iggy and his crew are far from sellouts; I know Mike Watt personally, since they’ve never made any real money. The rock stars that need to be taken down are a different story... NO FUN, NO FUN, NO FUN.

let's leave the nirvana aside. the new single, I don't know the album, is quite bad... a matter of taste.
Wipers Is It Real?

youth of america is truly beautiful. the tracks compared to is it real? double their length, becoming much more acidic and erudite. when I think of the first three Wipers records, I feel embarrassed. there isn’t a bad song. Sage’s solo career doesn’t surpass that with the Wipers (it would be impossible, honestly) but it’s not bad.

maybe. unfortunately, it's a really limited success, meaning not a real success. anyway, I really like over the edge too, but I believe is it real? is fundamental (a bit more important) and anyway the wipers are the wipers. always great records and beautiful songs.

It's easy to criticize without signing your name. Let us hear your group. Come on?

merdallari since you brought up collaborations, which is really a bullshit topic, have you perhaps forgotten JELLO BIAFRA AND MELVINS? JELLO BIAFRA doesn’t really seem like a merdallaro or maybe he does?

by perfection I mean the right blend of melody, speed, light-heartedness (only at times), distortions. in other words, the essentials for writing some of the most beautiful pop songs ("mistery, tragedy e misfit" are a perfect example of what I mean)

ah... just to wrap it up, I won't say much more because you can't argue with idiots. In Germany, at any record store, you know how they're classified... PUNK and in the rest of the world... ALTERNATIVE and not merdal. But you can't try to come up with something of your own, I mean merdal, that is original... impossible, huh, brain compromised by too many hours of reading comics. Right? Bye merdallari
