In another review, I would have condemned this flowery language, but when you're talking about the low damn, this is the only way to describe such delicate and profound music. Truly beautiful. I still prefer The Great Destroyer!!!

Every day that goes by we fall further down, and who will stop us? Certainly not Verdena or Franz Ferdinand! PAVEMENT AT FULL THROTTLE!!!!!!!

Can you feel that it's stuff from thirty years ago? I’d shoot you. I swear!!! Go listen to Queen!
Rino Gaetano, in my opinion, is one of the few Italian musicians who artistically looks only at himself. His style is his very own style, and on top of that, the songs have that certain something.
The vein of nonsense is a parody of all those pretentious musicians who take themselves too seriously.
Does it feel like thirty years ago? Besides, it’s not true at all, and even if it were, is that a flaw? Explain it to me?
There are records released today that feel like they’re forty years old and people say, "they're influences."
What have we come to!!!

if you really don’t want to understand, that’s your problem. Keep your Verdena and their nonsense... It’s certainly paradoxical to consider them innovators for a certain type of music, and given this, I think it’s you who are acting like the three monkeys! Tell me, how much do you think they earn?
Enough not to have to work despite having no talent! Seems like a lot to me, don’t you think?

What the hell do we care about the know-it-all group? Without taking anything away or offending know-it-all (I haven't listened to his music and I'm not judging the person), I just believe that this forum could be a meeting point to discuss the "SCENE" (note the quotation marks) in Italy! I'd say: let's talk about Verdena and other bands! Regarding comments read in my reply, I'd like to say: you don't know well (I mean MACI). 1 The UZEDA have been playing together since '89, that is, long before meeting Steve Albini, and they sound like Shellac way before Shellac started. Steve Albini himself has said to take some of Uzeda's works as examples. 2 The SUPER ELASTIC BUBBLE PLASTIC, apart from the influences, have nothing in common with ONE DIMENSIONAL MAN... that is, it doesn't seem like plagiarism to me. Absolutely, and by the way, if they resemble any band, it’s certainly not Shellac. Additionally, a recommendation for those who listen to alternative music: soon IL TEATRO DEGLI ORRORI will be released, a fusion of the two groups and they are truly explosive. Furthermore, you say they copy Jesus Lizard and that seems totally absurd to me. Are you familiar with David Yow's singing? Are you aware of Scratch Acid?
The problem with Verdena is not their technique. Not at all. Honestly, the bands I look up to are Nirvana, Husker Du, Black Flag, Dinosaur Jr... a certain punk style. So my criticisms are not about the technique or arrangements, which I actually find quite adequate in Verdena. My criticisms are directed at their lack of honesty, their disgusting and unnecessary arrogance, their constant plagiarism. Let's say that with the new album they've moved from Nirvana and some Motorpsycho to Queens of the Stone Age and Motorpsycho's Demon Box.
Now I wonder: "You wanna be my girlfriend" or whatever the hell that single by Jet from a couple of years ago is called doesn't have the same value or honesty as "Lust for Life" even though it's very similar.
What I'm trying to say is: rather than giving money, fame, and ego to copycats, wouldn’t it be better to listen to the same three albums your whole life that are at least played with heart? Less superficiality, people, less superficiality. That's all!!!

great review. SERIOUSLY!!!
I don't agree with those who have expressed criticism towards the 80s. The mainstream, like every period, was crap but the underground... Husker Du, Minutemen, Sonic Youth, Black Flag, Minor Threat, Dinosaur Jr, Fugazi, Nirvana, Melvins, Tad, Mudhoney. Come on, how can you say the 80s sucked?

I don't like your review. It doesn't explain a damn thing. Anyway, I find TARM completely honest. A great band.

It's really difficult to talk about an extraordinary album and make those who know it by heart feel like they encountered it in their earliest years. Beautiful review, passionate, heartfelt, towards an immense band that plays like gods!!! The fastest band on the planet isn't Pantera, is it?!
