Of course... and it's a good thing that it's not read in school. Beautiful things should be kept to oneself; making people who might not be capable read Céline diminishes him. In school, one should read I Promessi Sposi or other crap, not serious stuff.

Celine is not sneaky. He is simply beyond our notions of right and left, comrade and buddy. What is a person who takes refuge in the home of an SS officer and dies poor while taking care of the sick for free? He is a masterpiece of a person, well above mediocrity. D'Annunzio was a fool, someone who reads a book without understanding a damn thing. Celine was an anarchist, a reactionary who despised the course the world had taken, and both today’s present (as well as yesterday’s) have proven him right. Celine is not sneaky, not giving a damn about others' thoughts. He is inconsistent, like all interesting people.
