One thing is the death of a person who has harmed no one, and another is the death of a pseudo-journalist who called for the death of thousands of people in the name of who knows what to satisfy her thirst for war and to remember when she was young and felt alive. These are two completely opposite things... if you prefer, I can rephrase it by saying that it would have been better if Fallaci had never been born, but the thought remains the same, and I feel it deeply. If I had written: Berlusca must suffer before dying or if I had changed the subject to Hitler or some other madman, would you have objected? No, because Fallaci's essence is that, and honestly, I wish for Berlusca's death at least 30 times a day... it's my remedy.

There used to be forms of resistance, perhaps horrific, but they marked a possible alternative... today, not even those. We have definitely arrived at one-dimensionality... we, who were already one-dimensional men, and Fallaci, who is mono-neuronal, is a symbol of this deficiency. Take my advice: read "Democracy in America"... it changed my life, and there are three thousand things relevant to this discussion that I am incapable of expressing.

Cpt, it seems to me that my comment has a tone I didn't intend... you know I like you, even though sometimes I've taken the liberty of joking with you :) What I mean to say is this: your concept of respect, which ultimately is a concept of freedom, can't be distributed arbitrarily. Like: the journalist possessed by Satan is okay, but the pedophile is not... One never puts oneself in the shoes of these ultra-minorities, but it’s a life of hardship... a friend of mine died because he was gay, not from disease, but from life because one can still die from homosexuality... so what? The homosexual used to be exterminated, today he is to be tolerated... and why? Why can I tolerate Fallaci's hatred towards the Arab world but not the love/hate from a sexual perpetrator? Who tells me what to respect and what not? I should mention that I am for the most absolute intolerance.

Just a note, EMPATHY... feel, don’t listen... feel the words of Fallaci, don’t just read them. When you feel them, you will wish her dead not 3 times, but 10. And then, respect is worth nothing.
