No, come on, for heaven's sake. This, along with "Da un Castello," now gathered in the Trilogy of the North, represents the voice of a Celine who has finally collapsed, crushed by life. Surely, they are among the most painful and mad things one can read, but for me, they are not the true Celine, or rather, they are not what I prefer... the true Celine, which ultimately means nothing, is that of the early novels, the pamphlets... the bad and ironic one, not the morbid, defeated, and bombarded one of old age. It’s difficult to talk about Celine, a person I now feel I know too well, but I advise you, to start with, to read "Viaggio"... a masterpiece of masterpieces, for which he was accused of being "communist," him who was systematically and in bad faith adopted and used by all the right-wing factions of the world (in fact, in the dark years, up until last year's reprints, only the right cared about Celine... obviously, all the nasty things that Celine reserved for right-wingers were ignored). One note, before someone comes along, I am one of the mythical Celine readers and all the insults are, obviously, also directed at me. It takes time and passion to enter Celine's mind and understand his vision of things without justifying or condemning it a priori... that's why I said: to love Celine, passion is needed
you must seek not only the books but also the reasons behind it all, and you end up being mistreated and looked at askance just like your favorite author.

The huskers from the mountain are the only group from the much-lauded Italian Hardcore scene that I truly appreciate... unfortunately, being an integral part of that movement, they are that movement, too folkloristic and not musical enough... and in their records, there is music in abundance. They should be taken as they are, without thinking about what was around them. The SST? Exaggerated... the logo wouldn’t look out of place on the cover, it would make the record stand out in the catalog... without false modesty. As people, not really cool, actually... musically pretentious, nothing to say. Everyone has their opinions... but you’re a bit of a bad boy lux :) bye

Just finished watching it. What struck me is how Placido, despite having his life saved by Nino, remains tied to the boss who ordered his execution... I mean, it’s not about the gratitude or lack thereof towards the boss, but this spiral where your feelings, still connected to a sense of good, are irrevocably compromised just to survive... I realize this every day in real life, but I've never found this expression in a film. The sub-proletariat, by being considered trash for so long, becomes trash, and even wanting to improve and escape this situation that gnaws at their spirit, they can't... this is the moral blackmail that Nino believes he can escape from, but he ends up completely trapped... completely inside. Solutions? I DON'T KNOW! Great film, zero rhetoric, great Placido and great Gemma. Thank you for writing about it. Bye :)

What can I say!?! In the end, I bought it for 15 euros... what a great album. Thank you, Lewis. I'm in love... I swear. It has something that I can't quite explain, it feels suspended, it feels like it's playing in your living room, at times Dan even prepares breakfast for you. Listen: I don't know anything about the Black Keys, nothing... where do I start? What do you think?

Hi Azzo, thank you so much for the surprise. Don't worry, spaccamaroni is a kindness :) Regarding the voice: it's low on purpose. Raising it above the instruments (a very Italian thing) is something I don't like. Better to keep it low, inside, and make it all feel tighter... which is how it sounds live. About the intensity: that’s in abundance, we just need some tremolo... I have a Tele, I need to change. As for the “poor man's Slint”: well, I was hoping for “I'm the Hardcore version of Rino Gaetano”
obviously “poor man's Slint” flatters me, but Rinuccio makes the difference. On the Neapolitan accent: that’s intentional. For a moment we thought about singing in Neapolitan. Then we figured it's cooler to sing in Italian with a Neapolitan flair... so be it. About “SCOPA”: it's a sad story, frontier stuff... when you want to hook up, but the only road that leads to hooking up is blocked by a trench of Monnezza. One has to be aware. As for Jawbox: you have an amazing palate, old man... I'll explain it to you privately, but know that you haven't wasted your hearing these years ;) About heterogeneous: damn, I thought it was so homogeneous it was like a smoke curtain... excellent! Cheers to everyone.

And let’s say that the Journey has also had the best treatment. Mea Culpa was amputated in Italy of some parts until 1981, Bagatelle hasn’t been published since 1942, and Mea Culpa in the Soviet countries was published only from 1989 onward... Celine is like that; he loved to be rejected, and it makes me strange to know that now there are so many cultured people willing to love him... and believe me, loving Celine is a pain. To write my thesis, I have to endure side glances and "are you right-wing?" one day yes and the next day too, and I’m fine with it that way. Go back to ignoring him and don’t let him become just another simple name that dances on people’s lips. The love for something so beastly is a thing for a few. I mean the inner love.
