I couldn't care less about technique or various niceties. There’s a film that conveys a message (not all films, but this film)... the message is that in such a grotesque reality, anything one does is a palliative, a painkiller, a drug to avoid thinking. You may disagree with this view of things (which I don’t consider a stance of a woke person), however you like, but the playful, let’s say grotesque and exasperated tones used to make the situation even more surreal are a means, not the end. I don't care about technique; in music, just like in cinema, I want to hear something that needed to be said, and this film needed to be said. Simpler than the cosmic void you attribute to Aronofsky swirling in your skull. Regards.
