In fact, it seems to me that something very similar is happening to what occurred with America in the '60s and '70s, and even today, let's face it, America has an almost mystical fascination for us who have been subjected to its continued cultural domination (films, TV shows, literature, music), resulting in this ongoing domination. Just look at all the Italian groups with English names who sing in English (and don’t come at me saying it's to be more European, which means nothing, you sing in English because you like it, and because it seems cooler to you). Now, if Japan can help broaden the narrow horizons of Italians, then bring on the sushi, the robots, and Death Note and Mishima (of course, I am intentionally simplifying), but one must hope that this isn't yet another case of cultural prostration and sodomy from our fellow citizens, willing to be invaded in every which way, losing authenticity (I'm not making a patriotic argument, far from it, but really far, rather a discourse on personality, originality, and character). Now, that gothic-lolita, which has such a name... so... okay, what is it exactly?

I don't know this one, I've heard a couple of others and they seemed too RATM, even if some tracks were really remarkable. You always have excellent reviews.

vortex, are you the one who reviewed Tokio Hotel? Kudos! They are incredibly refined in both ideas and style, and there's no need to use fancy words to sound intellectual, right, just to please you and those other 3 or 4 (actually, many more unfortunately) idiots who go to concerts and then lean against the wall, criticizing with long faces. I’ve seen them live twice, to me they are almost a miracle.

The fact is that Italy is undergoing a moment of massive (but, in my opinion, foolish) fascination with Japan, starting from its most pop expressions.

@PANAPP listen, I clearly wrote that I don't know her and that I can't contextualize her, in fact, I would like to be enlightened on a topic that I think we will soon have to confront in Italy as well. As far as I know, it claims to be a "transgressive" and "countercultural" movement, but without filling these words with meaning and remaining at the level of mere fashion, considering that even its few musical expressions that have reached my ears (the American Emily Autumn or the cute pop star in question) seem truly lacking in value.

my god, Fiquata, it’s something like the concert of my dreams (well maybe not exactly, but in terms of current bands, yes). Really, really great, all the ones you mentioned.

indeed yes, an attempt to import gothic lolita fashion to Italy, a rather shabby trend as far as I know (and I don't know much, but if you had seen the episode of "Il testimone" dedicated to Japan, you would understand why I speak this way). In a couple of sections of the single, it seems like it's even trying to imitate Björk (!!!), all in all a beautiful woman. Unqualified, and plasticized.
