I believe you have summarized what I have been thinking for quite some time, namely that it is impossible to destroy "bell'e buono" the entire history of a city, its way of being, of relating to daily experiences. At this point, I think I've understood; yours is a weary resignation, just like mine, only that at certain moments it is stronger and at others less so. In the moments when we feel less resigned, we are more combative, almost hopeful for the possibility of change, and we forget that a radical solution would involve a presence of a very different nature of the Italian army in our beautiful city...

Alessio, look, I (unfortunately) had to spend about twenty days at Cardarelli (hospitalized), I just got back home and I swear, I indulged in a feast of Neapolitan culture: from the old man stuck in bed who spent his days watching Totò movies to the guys who came every day during visiting hours to sell holy cards, to the quieter wards where people ate pizza amid the complaints of nurses and discussed the fact that they wouldn’t always wear a helmet on their scooters even though it had just saved their lives. I shared a room for a good week with a boy my age (21 years old) from the Sanità area, whose father threatened doctors and nurses every day because he didn’t want to leave his son, even though the ā€œguaglioneā€ was just undergoing a trivial surgery on his cheekbone.
I've come to a verdict: we need to stop getting screwed over, one way or another; I love my city too, but I say enough is enough. The "price" only means submitting to a regime, because that’s what it is, a mafia-like and uncivil government that treats us like we’re a feudal estate.
Then who knows, maybe I’m just going through a negative phase, maybe the news that the non-profit cooperative based in Aversa that I worked for this year is going to close, since the municipalities haven’t paid it in over two years; the army fills that place with paratroopers carrying assault rifles, which scare me just to look at, and then they don’t help the people who really affect the social fabric.
You’ll tell me I’m not offering solutions, that I might still be paying illegal parking attendants and that we can’t just flee en masse, abandon everything, and then I’ll have no choice but to agree with you.

Ah, and then I also like the cellar, often a friend of mine goes to play records there, not to mention that I definitely hate driving to Vomero.

I wanted to go too... my friends ditched me at the last minute, and I settled for Le luci della centrale elettrica the next day. Even though Alessio's comment is worth considering, I think I missed out on a very intense concert.

5 just for having TRIED to review this book, which seems made of the same stuff as dreams. If I had to paint it, I would have to do it by mixing Escher and Magritte. By the way, recently I met a guy I hadn't seen in years, who thanked me for having recommended this work to him back in the day.

he's great, I've had the chance to talk to him on several occasions, I've seen the theater 3 times, the first time there were about twenty of us, and they were amazing anyway. They have absolutely no airs, I assure you, they are just people who deeply love music and I see nothing, absolutely nothing wrong with what he said. And then anyway, we should only judge the quality of the music and the depth of the message, and occasionally the degree of coherence and professionalism: it seems to me that PP and the theater set an example in all these things. Ah, and come on, it's rock, Italian rock! How long has it been since we've seen something done so well in Italy? +/- 10 years?
