Crystal Stilts Alight Of Night

I've just listened to it and I agree with everything. One of the best albums I've heard recently, and I feel there's still so much to discover: in any case, they will stay on my playlist for a while. For now, the rating is 5, because even if in some parts they are really too much of a revival, they are too captivating and mysterious, dark and dreamy. A source of inspiration.

Okay, I need to hear this right now. You are a great reviewer, really, splendid perfect review. But are these the little buddies of The Pains of Being Pure at Heart or the Vivian Girls? Not that I need any more good reasons to listen to them, these here... Ah guys, what do you think about these garage scenes that pop up practically every decade?
Darren Aronofsky Requiem For A Dream

I fully agree with the reviewer, it's junk for teenagers. Alessio, I agree with you, but this film didn’t say a damn thing to me. It's adolescent exactly because it's too glossy and expressionless, and please don’t bring up Trainspotting, which is based on entirely different ideas and values. The message is different in both films; it’s all different, so the comparison makes no sense (also because in my opinion this crap is a million times worse).

I liked it, it’s not a review, obviously, but I liked it, and the album is more than legend.

Ok, good review. The movie may not be a masterpiece, but I never disliked it. However, you could be right; I actually haven't seen it in several years.

@AlìMurtacc: I've already explained why this review is terrible and why it only holds up thanks to the objective complexity of the work. Do you think it's better not to write a review or to write one that is dramatically simplistic and reductive? Also, have you read the book or do you just want to provoke a pointless argument from a fake?
William Burroughs Naked Lunch
Voto:
necessarily incomplete and simplistic review for a work that is a masterpiece in many respects, not only linguistically, which is nonetheless the most evident. Think of the story "speaking asshole," which is often cited as one of the most absurd, and realize that even though it is absurd and surreal, it holds up perfectly narratively as a story, and is emblematic of Burroughs' ability to tell, to be a true writer, even when buried under layers and layers of experimentalism and avant-gardism, between cut-ups and esoteric and mystical references. Moreover, you did not mention recurring themes, such as that of hanging, but focused only on the superficial and provocative aspect without delving deeper into a work that even today has no equals and has influenced generations and generations of artists in all fields. But I understand you: I don’t give you a single point for the difficulty of the work and the approach to it, but know that you greatly diminish it, perhaps not even realizing how much, with the four words you lined up.
