About Peter Hammill: he has produced - and continues to produce - excellent works, I would even say true musical masterpieces, even after Van der Graaf. Further insights: Welcome to Sofa Sound

I give 5 points to the album even though I've never heard it. But back then I listened to 'Per Voi Giovani' and I have a vague memory of catching (via radio) the atmosphere of that excellent event. Those were truly great times. It's a shame I was still a child! But I will get the double CD.

I have the DVD and not the disc. A simply amazing performance by the old PFM. They are musicians with the balls. And to think they started out with the name "Quelli" and were doing covers...

.... CCCP or USSR or CIS: it's always excellent fabric!
Carla Bruni Quelqu'un m'a dit
Voto:
Fiorello did a great imitation of Bruni, a snobbish Frenchified woman who in Italy couldn't speak (or pretended not to) her native language. But she is an authentic character and I know—from personal experience—that living abroad also involves this: the clouding of the language you were raised with. All right, she may be snobbish (her life partner is a philosopher, obviously French, etc.), but the album is worth 5 stars, just like the review. 'Quelqu'un m'a dit' ultimately has the merit of making you want to revisit the old material of Francoise Hardy and company... So many gems to rediscover.

Amon Düül -aha: now I understand. And just for this, you deserve five stars from me. Now I'm going to read all your reviews, your comments, etc. Bye!

For puntiniCAZpuntini: "Azzurro" is a cover by Hosen of the song written by Paolo Conte, and they sing it in Italian. Super funny. "Maagische Nacht"... is YOUR translation of the anthem sung in duet by Nannini/Bennato. But... how come you know German so well? Do you live in Germany?
Talking Heads Remain In Light
Voto:
I'm listening to the double compilation 'Sand In The Vaseline': the Talking Heads were a phenomenon that anyone claiming to know modern music cannot ignore. Once, Byrne stated: "We are the noise between two subway stops." This, it seems to me, aptly describes their "art."
Lou Reed / John Cale Songs for Drella
Voto:
Lou Reed and John Cale couldn't stand each other... at least that's what the biographies say. Yet they come together and produce this lovely tribute to the eccentric promoter of the Velvet Underground project. I have it on cassette, and I keep listening to it with pleasure.
Leonard Cohen Ten New Songs
Voto:
I have followed with interest the controversy over Cohen at the end of this review. I am a great aficionado of Lenny and I understand the dismay of some after listening to this album. I invite them to listen to the 10 tracks for what they are, that is, "poems in music." What surprises me, however, is when I hear from all sides that Cohen has a nice voice here... No, he doesn't. He hadn't had one since 'The Future'. With age, the voice changes; often for the worse. But what matters most, at least in his case, is that he is still able to churn out wonderful lyrics.
