Amazing Blondel Fantasia Lindum
Voto:
Among the Amazing Blondel, I prefer "Blondel" (the album with the purple cover and a stylized hand on it), but only for sentimental reasons. From the legendary trio of minstrels, everyone can carve out their own favorite compilation. Until a few years ago, the three performed in a club near Brescia and were praised even by the "under 50s"...
Federico Fellini Amarcord
Voto:
Fellini understood the absurdity of life, which is not a prerogative of the Belpaese but of all nations and all peoples, and he exorcised this absurdity with a great dramatic laugh that spans several chapters, of which "Amarcord" is one of the most brilliant.
Grateful Dead Blues for Allah
Voto:
Know some of the essential works from the vast discography of the Grateful Dead.
Salvatore Samperi Malizia
Voto:
Good. Great review. The film is a vulgarization of literary themes like "Paolo il caldo," as you mentioned. Alessandro Momo, who also starred in "Peccato veniale" and the much more acclaimed "Profumo di donna," and was thus on his way to a great acting career, died in a motorcycle accident at the age of 19.
Marco Ferreri La grande abbuffata
Voto:
It's a masterpiece that has captivated audiences around the world (especially those in off-off cinemas, where it still gets occasionally screened). Aside from everything, the actors somehow seem to want to portray themselves, poking fun at their own personas in a humorously deadpan way... "5" for the film, but only a "2" for the review.
Mario Monicelli Amici miei
Voto:
I saw the film only in German, not in Italian; even though the translation (and the dubbing) is excellent (the actor who "reinterprets" Tognazzi has his identical voice!!), I understand from your review that I absolutely have to get my hands on the original version.
Roberto Benigni La Vita E' Bella
Voto:
If you had limited yourself to criticizing the film for the weakness of the story (in the true sense of "implausible script" and "poor technical execution of the storyline"), as well as for the excessive feel-good element of a "box office sure thing," without trying to identify in Benigni's intent alleged "propaganda historicisms" or incredible winks at the American politicians, I would have awarded your review a "5."
Neil Young On the Beach
Voto:
Of Neil Young, I prefer "Rust Never Sleeps," "Zuma," and the wild (absolutely raging and at millions of decibels) "Arc/Weld." Those, in my opinion, are his masterpieces. This doesn't take away from the fact that "On the Beach" and "Everybody Knows...," as well as "Harvest" and "Harvest Moon" (thanks, nickghostdrake!) are also excellent. I wouldn't therefore say that "On the Beach" is "the" masterpiece of the Canadian bard. We must also reckon with other gems in his discography. Despite this, I give the maximum rating to the review as well.
Ry Cooder Paris, Texas
Voto:
In my opinion, Ry Cooder is one of those guitar virtuosos (especially slide guitar, in his case) who, however, lacks that extra spark of creativity to be catapulted into the true Parnassus. I completely agree with sfascia carrozze.
Nanni Loy L'audace colpo dei soliti ignoti
Voto:
Right now, I'm watching "I soliti ignoti" (by Monicelli) on RAI 3, but I also remember well the "sequel" to this film (that is, "Audace colpo dei soliti ignoti") and I too consider it a key comedy in the history of Italian cinema. Unfortunately, today the same Italian cinema is "under a bridge," as Dante Cruciani writes in his review. I'm also sorry for those who praise Verdone, but I specifically identify him as one of the initiators of the creeping "trash" that is currently overwhelming us. Nanni Loy was made of a different substance altogether.
