Tori Amos A Piano: The Collection
Voto:
A very original review, although I lower the rating a bit since I don't like those that talk too much about personal experiences (but that's a completely subjective judgment)... that said, consider the 3 in a positive light. I'm not a fan or an EWF of Tori in the strict sense, but I adore her and consider her one of the three most important female artists of the '90s (the other two being Björk and PJ Harvey), the only ones to propose personal and female musical models instead of imitating men like so many do (first and foremost Courtney Love)... well, then there's Kaki King, who is an absolute genius, but that takes us too far into alternative music for a few exhausted souls... and then Tori Amos, even physically, fascinates me to no end. Anyway, I find the remix of Professional Widow to be an emotional and beautiful track in its own way; I wouldn’t give such a negative judgment.
Richard Ashcroft Keys To The World
Voto:
I completely agree! In fact, Ashcroft became a solo artist after just one internationally successful album with The Verve, a project that wasn’t entirely his own (the guitarist was equally important in the songwriting and that's also why they broke up), which until Urban Hymns had remained confined to British territory. Too early then! It's obvious that after the curiosity for his solo debut, lacking a solid base of fans, the good Richard has rightfully entered the ranks of the losers in the music business, since he's not even a cult artist, with his ambitions mainly monetary. At least he puts out a decent single per album, but that's not enough (a bit like Phil Collins and all those solo artists who release an album with one hit and nine fillers). "Break the night with colours" is a nice song, just like "Check the meaning" and even earlier "A song for the lovers," but it’s too little...
Korn See You On The Other Side
Voto:
Bah, for me it's a snooze-worthy album, and even if the genre is still within metal boundaries, that's quite serious. Then to think that the song that bothers me the least is "Hypocrities," which you consider half-assed... oh well... anyway, for me "Korn" was a masterpiece, "Life is Peachy" a chaotic mix with some good ideas poorly developed, "Follow the Leader" great apart from 2-3 foolish tracks, "Issues" interesting, "Untouchables" overrated, "Take a Look in the Mirror" worth re-evaluating even if it's still not an album from a great band, and this... this is by far the worst in a discography that has been declining since the debut, losing originality along the way in favor of a mannerism conditioned by being the founding band of a genre... and as such, Korn really risks becoming forever enslaved to the genre they created. I'll give them one more chance, we'll see (after all, they wipe their noses with what I might think), but the departure of Head has impacted a bit.

Thank you Funeral, I fully reciprocate the esteem! I was just appointed human case number 133, so the appreciation from other debaserian friends further fills me with pride! A mention also for vinsex and vincent valentine, thanks guys, I knew that sooner or later someone would appreciate this nickname of mine... who knows what it really means?? ...see you in any of the birbabirba reviews to insult it... it's become my passion (I know, I really have nothing else to do)! Long live the reliGGGion!

Thank you guys, I’m really moved! After just 3-4 days of comments, I’m already a human case... I think it’s a record! I have tears in my eyes! But I still need to eat (and smoke) a lot of weed to reach the levels of my idol birbabirba... oh, I remind you that I’m collecting signatures for his first fan club... sign up too, I know there’s a birbabirba pulsating deep in your hearts! Anyway, if I’m number 133, 1) the other 132 must really be in a bad spot to be worse than me, 2) if we keep calling out human cases, the whole world population will be included and we would lose the ironic spirit... oh, and just to confirm that I’m really a heavy human case, EnacOid15-18 (I’ll leave the full explanation of the name to you) is just one of my two manifestations, the other one writes shy reviews on this site... if you’ve got nothing better to do, try to find out who else I am! ave nick! not a fascist though, I just expressed my opinion, I apologize... whatever.
Guns N' Roses Appetite For Destruction
Voto:
Yes, Guns'n'Roses are the last mainstream hard rock band to have emerged on the global music scene. Then rock fell out of fashion for good and left the charts, making only sporadic returns with some fake guitar pop. I've never really liked them because I see nothing remotely artistic in what they've done, just a savvy way of selling themselves. However, they did write some historic songs, so let's not completely tear them apart. And then, better the times when the Guns were dominating than today when the chart rock bands are Green Day and Linkin Park. At least Axl (whose voice I can't stand either) had charisma, not to mention Slash... today, however, we are in a much, much worse situation.

Genius! This is a completely new way of doing reviews! Random sentences, wrong terms, it feels like you've heard a song before but you’re not sure, buy it, actually no! And I had never read about someone commenting on different parts of a song in real-time, even noting the timing, always with that aura of “I don't really know what I'm saying but you get it anyway, right”? But you communicated something anyway, an IMPRESSIONIST review! A snapshot of a moment of hallucination! If you wrote it while listening to the album, it's normal that at some point you didn’t understand a thing! You’ll write better ones... but if you want to enhance your skills, read one of those written by my idol Birbabirba, an absolute master! Oh, and if you want, you can join his fan club, it's all free!

Mom, there are a few grammar mistakes, even serious ones, in my comment! As a punishment, I’ll raise the score for the review and lower the one for the album.

Well yes, with the double operation "Mesmerize/Hypnotize," both commercial and pointless, SOAD have really messed up, losing a significant portion of the fans who adored them from the first two albums (which I consider to be very valid and not overrated at all, especially the first one - let’s be objective to the end). The cracks had already appeared with "Steal This Album," which, being a collection of discarded tracks, had its relative value. However, these two albums tend to go down that path, being official releases preceded by great anticipation. Many lyrics are downright ridiculous, several tracks border on the absurd (playing with fire can get you burned: masterpieces don’t always result from bizarre ideas), the four Armenians seem to have regressed... they were much more mature back at the time of their debut! The destructive power of money and fame. Anyway, for the umpteenth time: the nu-metal genre and similar styles (even though the numetalers are far worse, the sounds are still pretty much the same) are something that no longer has a reason to exist... from Korn, to SOAD, to Slipknot, enough already! Change your genre, name, and members or withdraw because this type of music doesn't make sense in 2006 (like a sixty-year-old rapper still talking about women, being a great lover, billions, and various nonsense). A somewhat random review but with shareable ideas.
