Well, I don't think that abroad they would need an Italian singer who sings in English. Pronunciation is quite a problem that she is not exempt from either. Having a considerable competition (unlike the average mediocrity of the Italian scene where she inevitably stands out) she would have no hope of being noticed given the flatness and complete lack of innovation in her music. That said, she sings well and at least writes her own songs. Unfortunately, that's not enough for me. 2 and a half for the artist.

Never been able to stand it. I generally can't stand interpreters and I have no particular respect for those who don't compose the music they sing or perform (with some very particular exceptions like Dusty Springfield). Then when they have a flat, monotonous voice that ruins songs, and carry that particular faux-intellectual snobbery like Mannoia, I just can't stand it. I won't vote, it's for the best. Good review anyway.

It's a pity that King Crimson and Van Der Graaf Generator were already around in 1969 while in Italy there was still the beat.... That said, I agree that within a genre invented in another country, there were bands here in Italy that created their own language like Orme, Banco, and Area, while almost all the others, in my opinion, were totally derivative.
