David Coverdale & Whitesnake Restless Heart
Voto:
The best from the voice of the good David, in my opinion, can be found on Stormbringer, David Coverdale's Whitesnake (1977), and Northwind.... Of course, a mention goes to the magnificent Burn.... This album is just stuff....

True, the sound on News of the World is very beautiful, almost "Bohnamian" with the lavish use of natural ambiance; there's a similar sound on "Night at the Races" (the powerful "White Man").... On "Jazz," Roger is unleashed! ("Dead on Time"!)

Album produced and performed by Rod Argent of Argent (great band and great keyboardist)... "Twist of my sobriety" was a great track and it also had a nice video if I remember correctly...

Typical drum sound from Trident studios, where during the same period they also recorded VDGG, Bowie, Genesis, Gentle Giant among others, and if you listen closely, the drum timbre is the same: a lot of compression, no natural ambience, muffled skins, and very close miking. A nice little disc but nothing more, much better are "Sheer Heart Attack" and "A Night at the Opera" as well as "Jazz" and "The Game"...... A good review even though it seems to me there might have been one already...
