'Woodpecker from Mars', damn!!!!! What a thrill, guys... not to mention the trash punch of 'Surprise, you're dead!' or that amazing self-titled crossover, and to think I don't even consider it the peak of Faith ('Angel Dust' = monument). One of the first true examples of funk-metal-pop, even though before '89 there were already great works by RHCP ('The Uplift Mofo Party Plan' - '87) and Living Colour ('Vivid' - '88). Billy Gould is one of the greatest and most versatile bassists of the last twenty years. Jim Martin is a man, a guitar, a legend. As for the young Patton, he's a vocal rollercoaster even with that goofy 'Donald Duck' voice (Anthony Kiedis wouldn't even say hi to him... :D); but he already shows what he's really capable of in 'Zombie Eaters' or 'Surprise...'. What a band!!

Ah, so 'Last cup of sorrow' and basically that killer melody known as 'Ashes to ashes' would just be 'pleasant'.... Mmmm, okay that 'Album of the year' might not be their masterpiece (but, in my opinion, a worthy epilogue) but I assure you of the value of an album that contains, among other things: 'Collision', 'Stripsearch', 'Got that feeling', 'Paths of glory', 'Helpless', etc. To confine FNM in the pen of a mundane 'best' is like having Marzullo host a film program... ;) Anyway, if I'm not completely out of my mind, I remember that 'Easy' is by Lionello Riccio with the 'Commodores' - Until next time!
