Songs like 'Making Plans for Nigel,' 'Day in, Day Out' (which Bowie did a great cover of in '87 :D), and the stratospheric ones, like the 'Dukes of..,' 'Complicated Game' (which was sampled exactly by Korn in 'Issues' on track 16..) are from a great band, no doubt about it! For me, 'Drums & Wires' remains one of the 10-15 masterpieces of new wave of all time. But then, don't 'English Settlement' or 'Skylarking' deserve to be recognized as works of a historical and refined band in pop, like very few? Until next time.

Yes, but make sure that while you’re blasting ‘Hell’s Bells’ you grab yourself a nice sausage sandwich with sauerkraut and mayo; then a big extra-large mug of frothy beer and read a Playboy from '76-'79; maybe with the 'divine' Gloria Guida on the cover... Mmmm, what a delight for the belly! :D

As far as I'm concerned, the greatest band of the era; with top-notch frontman, guitarist, and drummer. Whether you like it or not, 'Black hole sun' (personally got tired of it due to overexposure on MTV and the likes, but back in '94 I was crazy about it...) the super underrated album that contains it is simply amazing, the ultimate evolution of Cornell & co. A rock totem. 'Don't come over here, and piss on my gate. Save it just keep it off my wave...Keep it off my wave, keep it off my wave, my wave, my wave...'

I want to thank those who read and appreciated this review of one of the classics by the Boss (perhaps my favorite). Dear DaveJon, look at albums like this, 'Born to Run', 'The River' (even if a bit sprawling), 'Nebraska', or 'The Ghost of Tom Joad'—they're not waiting to go down in history, THEY ARE history. Rock music is not just about technique and intellect, but also about 'gut' and heart: Springsteen is certainly one of the greatest in this sense; a songwriter capable of writing 'Meeting Across the River', 'Racing in the Street', 'Stolen Car', 'Drive All Night', 'Independence Day', 'Atlantic City', 'Mansion on the Hill', 'The Ghost of TJ', 'Straight Time', 'Youngstown', etc., etc. Not to mention 'Highway Patrolman' (from 'Nebraska') whose lyrics Sean Penn adapted into the screenplay for his directorial debut 'The Pledge' in '91 (great movie, by the way): all fools, therefore, we so-called 'adorers' of Bruce... And then, I can't help but respect a man who has always stood by the forgotten and the losers of society, making them the protagonists of his magnificent lyrics; real micro-stories that we could use more of today, from storytellers like that. The truest and most relevant guardian of the American tradition. P.S. The E-Street Band live will blow your mind for 3 or 4 hours.....
Beck The Information

Reviewer, a bit more courage—even if the stars don't give a real specific weight to the value of an album. Anyway, great record for now; you can feel Godrich's touch. The real Beck is back.

I miss this. Antonì what do you say, can I put the washing machine next to 'Evol', 'Sister', 'Daydream', 'Dirty' and the latest (stunning) 'Rather Ripped'? I only know 'Becuz', 'Unwind' and 'Little Trouble Girl': all remarkable.

'Third eye' is every time a different journey. Monstrous. Immense disco, an alien monolith that traverses the psyche and grants unique emotions.

One of the few 'true' absolute masterpieces of the last ten years that, for some strange reason, is often incredibly overlooked by the various best-of lists like 50, 110, 360, 514, 934, 1001 (I swear, it exists!) compiled by certain pretentious critics. But surely, the value of works such as 'Permission to Land', 'Control', 'All That You Can't Leave Behind', and other nonsense is indisputable :)
