Depeche Mode Exciter

Excites 'Exciter'? Well, sort of - perhaps the first true DP album with a bit too much filler... Gore and company wanted to create a more introspective and profound work, but the result, alas, is less inspired and genuine than 'Ultra'. Better them, however, than the picked bones of U2 and R.E.M. - at least the Depeche, in 25 years, have maintained a certain dignity and credibility evidenced by works that have never given the sense of simple 'cash grabs' (see the latest 'Playing the Angel', Mr. Album). They know how to age with style, just imagine if Alan Wilder were still in the game...

Masterpiece. The b-sides mentioned by Picci (watch out for 'Black day' - almost folk\dark!) were in the previous edition of the cd.

For me, it's more exciting than Carla Bruni (even when she's drunk).

Blessed are you who get so excited about Queen....

The most overrated group in history by their fans were (and still are...) a kind of international vascorossi – which, especially in Italy, the adoration began that November '91 when Mercury died... before that, hardly anyone cared, and those few wouldn't even think of making comparisons with LED ZEPPELIN, PINK FLOYD, WHO, etc. The funny thing is that the first to not take themselves seriously were precisely them, Queen. They certainly didn’t create masterpieces, but some nice songs for sure, and they remain one of the rare cases where I almost completely agree with the critics.
P.S. - In my humble opinion, 'II' and 'A Night at the Opera' are their best albums.

By 'popular music' I mean what will be etched in the History of rock'n'roll for centuries to come like, for example, in different fields, TH and Ramones... not Pausini or Ramazzotti! ;) Mariaè, are you really sure that the bass on 'Crosseyed and Painless' is played by Eno and not the amazing Tina Weymouth (maybe the greatest bassist in history)?! If you’re really wrong, I’ll hit your sweet head hard - plus you'll lose an extremely important point for the next level of your debaserian career!! :))))))
