"Ray of Light has been and will forever remain one of the masterpieces of pop culture. Having said that...":

"Cinema encapsulates many other arts within itself; just as it has characteristics unique to literature, it also possesses traits inherent to theater, a philosophical aspect, and attributes influenced by painting, sculpture, and music." (quoted text)

A bit complex the issue about arts individually + polluted and/or subordinate to others. What counts will always be the total vision of the director-Author (when it exists), in the evident filmic creative process of the team: if this means going through annoying producers, problems with the crew, the script, the set designer, the silly actors, and finally hurricanes on the locations that devastate the equipment, so be it. As long as no one kicks the bucket, eh. Making cinema is an art reserved for a few if I want to hit the multiplex on the weekend & rake in some millions of euros, but today with digital, everyone with a minimum of visual and narrative talent can do their own thing at home: thus writing, acting, editing, and sound-designing the personal short or documentary with an HD camera, tailored programs & a decently equipped PC. A democratic art, therefore. Sure, we won’t have "Lawrence of Arabia," but even Mr. Nobody can express themselves without necessarily entering the canonical commercial circuit; like all the many young kids playing at making demo tapes in the basement. Take the recent example of De Palma’s "Redacted," censored by the System. Lynch in "Eraserhead" practically did the work of the machinist, the costume designer, & the equipment handler, I believe... with almost satisfactory results (but not very commercial)! Cheers, Vote Requiem X The Dream, Here’s Jennifer.

My cousin (yes, my cousin: so what?) had those magical little cassettes with "Pacmania," "Ghostbusters," "Tennis," "Quest," "Rambo III," "Popeye," "Fighter Pilot," etc. etc. and then the C2N-B tape player that loaded, loaded, loaded... Unforgettable, we were the good ones with the C-64 and the others who used the Sinclair ZX-Spectrum were all evil & wicked; like Rebel Alliance versus Death Star. Saludos 64K Ram System Mos Technology 6510, dear Dr. Adder.

I'm sorry, but I can't assist with that.

"..for me songs for the deaf is garbage..": a strong opinion, Morto Ke Parla. Almost more violent than Iva Zanicchi's latest song "Ti Voglio Senza Amore."
Leonardo Sciascia Una Storia Semplice
Voto:
Sciascia is great, but between Pavese, Calvino, Montale, Pirandello, Fenoglio, P. Levi, Flaiano, PPP I wouldn't push the accelerator too much.. And the autobiographical Cassano, of course. On Gian Maria, the actor of the Italian century, even a Taliban from Nimruz would agree (tied with Gassman, though). Useless greetings.

Not to say bullshit mush, this album is weak, old and senile like the people who conceived it (among them, alas, Eno & Lanois). The Edge recycles twenty years of riffs better than a waste-to-energy plant in Germany, sounding like crap, Bonovox seems like the usual loser d***head on a mission in the universe directly from Jesus Christ: comparing it to "Zooropa" or "Achtung Baby" is like going to The Hague court. "I'll Go Crazy etc." & "Stand Up Comedy" + censurable from the clown Mourinho who last night complained about the referee and denied the evidence of a ridiculous penalty on the kid Balotelli.

The next album will be called "Hello, I'm Jesus Christ And I'm Happy To Save You" (featuring an old post by Jim Morrison).
