Moonspell Memorial

Uhm... dear Fidia, I can't agree with you. I really don't see the need for so many bands to harden up so much during this time, and surely Moonspell has succumbed to the temptation. But at least they offer a nice hard work, which takes me back to the band's early days, before Wolfheart. And I like it. I don't think the comparison with Katatonia is fair: the Nordics have that tendency to refine themselves in their very nature... they spectacularly update sound and lyrics. We Mediterraneans are undoubtedly wilder and more tied to traditions. I expected this return to rawness from the Portuguese. Of course, it's not thrilling, but I have missed a well-produced dark album like this. Naively, I had hoped for something good from Cradle Of Filth (heresy!!!) who have also lost all those baroque elements, but they turned out a real mess. Here instead there's music of a high level, from people who at least deserve a passing grade for how they sound. Regards!

Really impressive what you wrote, absolutely not trivial nor filled with useless reflections. Congratulations. However, the album deserves a 4 for me. Very interesting and, as you rightly point out, forgotten, but there's too much dark in this sound and honestly, I would have preferred a different kind of despair. Certain arpeggios remind me of an English band that does absolutely interesting death: Akercocke. By the way, listen to them; it's really worth it. Returning to this album, it is still very, very strong in some parts, while in others it slightly loses its tone.
Forgotten Tomb Love's Burial Ground

The first half-steamed album for the FT. The production of the album is too good, which, in my opinion, takes away at least 50% of the beauty from a genre like depressive.

I find little that's contrived in a band that does depression the right way and churns out great album after great album.

Masterpiece.

I give a solid 5 to a band that has never lost their ideas and has never served up the same old stuff in a thousand variations. These guys are geniuses.

mmm, so you just want to receive positive comments? I mean, do you think you can get away with rhetorical responses to comments as well? It’s not like there’s a competition for who keeps the best average, it seems to me. Anyway, it's only logical that I wouldn't read your reviews anymore. Do as you please. Adios.

Thank you for the suggestion, Fallen. Strangely, these slip my mind. I'll take care of it right away.
