Rino Gaetano Nuntereggae Più

Dear Iside, I know very well who Battisti is and I also know that in 30 years of career he wasn't able to write a decent song on his own... The same "Confusione" was written by Mogol and it certainly couldn't have been Battisti's idea, since all that was in his head were love stories, kisses, and all the other nonsense... it's easy to make everything seem rosy and flowery, much harder instead to denounce Italian society.

The CD is fantastic, all the songs are beautiful... nothing more to say.

Regarding the album Nuntereggae Più, it must be admitted that it does not hold up to the comparison with the two previous ones, but it still contains a masterpiece of a song like the title track; I’ve read comments here and there and heard some say that, apart from rare cases, Rino’s creations are just simple little songs; anyone who says such a thing has not understood a damn thing about him, but on the other hand, very few have grasped the singer-songwriter, very few have understood what he meant for Italian music... you make comparisons with De André, Guccini, or Battisti (without even mentioning Gaber, by the way) without realizing that, especially compared to the first two, Gaetano went much further; when Guccini spoke of ideals and memories of a youth long gone and while De André sang incomprehensible things, Gaetano sang about current issues, which everyone could understand, denouncing a rotten society (which was and remains the Italian one) with disarming simplicity and irony... He was the spokesperson for ordinary people, who sought to make a concrete stand, without resorting to the sophisms or complicated dialectics typical of Guccini and De André... And Battisti, by the way, isn’t even a singer-songwriter because his songs were written for him by Mogol or Panella.

One cannot truly say that Rino Gaetano has a style that's 30 years old for a simple reason: he doesn't have a definable style; Rino was a completely original singer-songwriter, entirely different from all those who populated Italy in the '70s. In a single Gaetano CD, you can hear blues, jazz, rock, and reggae songs without any restrictions. From a lyrical perspective, I can't find a more contemporary songwriter than Gaetano, who by the late '70s was already considering the "oil question"... You tell me if this isn't current!

I'm listening to the album right now and it's a masterpiece; I had been looking for something that would captivate me like this for a while. A definite must-buy!
The Doors the very best of
Voto:
It's true that this latest collection is just a commercial gimmick, but I still believe that Jim Morrison's poems set to music are truly fantastic, full of atmosphere... One interesting tidbit is that not long ago, I think it was last summer, a DVD of the Doors was released featuring "sorrisi e canzoni," which is really beautiful and commented on by two members of Jefferson Airplane. It includes tracks from the live in Europe '68; in the very best of DVD, there are only 5 songs, and they are the exact same ones included in the DVD that came out with the magazine 6 months ago. So if you already have it, don’t make the same mistake I did hoping to find new live performances of the Doors, because they are always the same.
Korn Mtv Unplugged

I start with the assumption that I've never liked Korn because when a friend of mine, who had just bought one of their CDs, opened it and found an advertisement inviting me to download their ringtone... I was really disappointed and promised myself to never give a dime to Korn. Aside from this little initial aside, I wanted to make an observation about the fact that you consider it original and innovative to use a flamenco guitar in a rock concert... but excuse me, have you never heard of a certain Robbie Krieger? From an unknown band called THE DOORS? He was using a flamenco guitar back in '69, so it doesn't really seem like an innovation to me. The review is nice anyway because it's hard to speak well of a band that really sucks.
Alice In Chains Dirt

I'm not a big fan of grunge, but bands like Soundgarden and Alice in Chains I really like a lot. The CD is really good, and I recommend it to anyone, even to those who think grunge isn't their genre... You can hear in some songs the strong influence of Nirvana, especially in terms of the vocals, but in my opinion they surpass Kurt's group by a long shot.
Simple Plan Still Not Getting Any

they really suck, way too commercial, they sold out before even naming the group.

Oh right, the review is really terrible, it doesn't make you want to buy the CD at all!
