Thank you so much, bisius, for the advice; it will be essential for my moral and intellectual growth. Moreover, my future as a head boy scout could be seriously compromised if they heard me use or saw me write such vulgarities. Thank you very much indeed, my mom always tells me to avoid foul language and blasphemies as well. In any case, I will definitely listen to you more than her. After all, she only brought me into this world, nursed me, raised me, and loved me, while you (can I address you informally?) are a de facto father, a spiritual guide, a guru, and an universal champion of good language. I’ll give you a piece of advice too, mind your own business and shove it up your ass (I tried to avoid using vulgarities as much as possible, as you can see).

Nice, a bit too much Pantera. The first "tension at the seams" was more like a pure kick in the shins and the Pantera vibes didn't come through at all. The genre was quite different, definitely more original (there was also a cover of The Police "truth its everybody" not sure if I spelled it right). Pretty, but a step back compared to the debut.

Tom Waits doesn't really fit in here. At best, some songs have a vocal style that borders on suffering—but as a type of music, not at all.

Never talked about musical taste, it was just an example (brilliant the rhyme woman-mini skirt). An enormous mistake not to buy a record just because of a preconception or a paranoia. I would never have bought the Karate due to paranoia, too well-reviewed by the late music section of Repubblica; I would never have bought Blind Melon, the cover was too ugly, etc. etc.

Same lineup for Florence, where finally the acoustics were grace, not like in Bologna in June. The exaggerated volumes were the same, which nonetheless didn’t affect the sound at all—quite the opposite. Impeccable and unmissable. Maynard perhaps was a bit annoying with that mask, but at least he sang all the songs from start to finish. Beautifulbeautifulbeautiful.

Anyway, "master of the universe" is the real gem. So much stuff!

I know it's a cliché as a premise, but aren't you paranoid when you buy an Italian record? I am, always. And then what is debaser a testimony of? Usually, people read-comment-discuss the 75th review of Pink Floyd and prefer to spend their words on albums that even someone living at the cottolengo knows are beautiful-fundamental-generational, you see.

In fact, they're as ugly as death at twenty, and the kind of music, even though I've worn the record out, I don't know... at times it reminds me of Italian singer-songwriter music, rock, tempo changes almost prog between chorus and verse, funk. Anyway, it’s not “heavy” or “light” music; then again, even though I’m not the group’s P.R., you can find the CD at Feltrinelli. It’s worth it, trust me.

I think the album is exceptional, and they really have an extraordinary energy. It's even more listenable than the previous ones (but I don't remember the titles of the others). I've been told to see them live because they perform even better, and their performance at Umbria Jazz 3-4 years ago was memorable.

Nice review! If you want an analysis of all the contents of the album, I recommend "Voglio sposare uno dei Lunapop (non importa quale)" by Freak Antoni. He demolishes this album with an almost Kantian analysis of the lyrics and the music, complete with an interview with the rastino and the son of the importa-simmenthal. The album, well, I’ve never listened to it all the way through, but judging by what they played on the radio, it can’t be that great. However, oh well, I won’t rate it.
