Interpol + Blonde Redhead Live @ Saschall - Firenze 12.11.07

Do you know when you try to do something? Like you try couscous (or lasagna - put something you like) already knowing that you like it, and you find yourself facing a delicacy that overwhelms your senses? I had tried... I didn't say it's the fault of the interpol. I just said that they got on my nerves all night. Period. Then it's a matter of tastes. But be objective. The drummer played the same tempo all night (and even in the records, but I only noticed after seeing the concert).

Anyway, the point of my review-rant is different: I liked the Interpol albums; they weren't anything that knocked me off my feet, but I thought they were a solid band. Live, they seemed ridiculous and repetitive to me, and when I say that the drummer plays the same 4/4 (tutu-ta-tutu-tata) the whole evening, I'm not saying it because he's incompetent or anything: the fact is that you can do a million variations on a 4/4 - they start with that rhythm and end with that rhythm (not just one song but the entire concert).

Five. always and anyway. I've seen them at least four times and they've never disappointed me. And then the albums, well, everyone has their tastes, but I've listened to them all day and I will keep listening to them all day.

The box cost £2900 and wasn't even worth half of that. The review was worth even less.

a crazy crap, I bought it on cassette by mail for the lovely sum of £2900 (almost a euro and fifty), and back then that would have gotten you a Calippo of the fizzy kind and 14 Goleador licorice (the black ones, not the half-transparent and half-red ones). I think I even recorded over it.

"Tell the truth: have you read Tinto Brass and..." - Yes, I’ll tell you: I’ve read Poletti and I thought they had included Tinto Brass in a cinema textbook. I think I hit the nail on the head.
