Ouch. I’m bitter about having existentially brought down Mister Pollack with this review... I must also add that the detail of the hair on Adriana Alba’s arms will make her voice in my ears noticeably less alluring.

Good boy. And well done to the fintocatalan guys. At first, I thought they were a bunch of drunk Erasmus students. That would have been more fun...

I recommend it to you, Socratic. The album, with listens, grows. Now I would give it a 4. "Cattleya" seems to me more and more like one of those songs born with the blessing of the heavens.

Chamber pop: very refined. Poor Cocker, reduced now to a librettist: how are these lyrics?

You intrigue me. I only remember "You're Gorgeous" and "Candy Girl," and I recall that the fact that the two pieces were very similar had discouraged me from further exploration. I'll try to dig them up. I also remember the "You're Gorgeous" video: quite trashy, as well as crashy.

Well, we agree on Tamaro. As for Baricco, proposed by Fusillo, we agree. Manzoni, I repeat, has nothing to do with this. You can’t compare him to writers from other eras (Manzoni vs. Dante or vs. Ariosto). Of course, in France, they had Flaubert and Baudelaire, but all of 19th-century Italian culture is inferior to its European counterpart (with the exception of Leopardi). Regarding Manzoni, his Catholic perspective might not appeal to everyone, but he was and is a Great Writer. That said, xe gustibus also applies to literature... (I’m reminded of Baustelle: ā€œamong the Manzonis, I prefer the real one: Pieroā€; they’re provocative too, perhaps, but honestly... he doesn’t deserve all this crap... that’s for sure...). Cheers!
