Beulah The Coast Is Never Clear
Voto:
Concise and evocative as always. What can I say, I really liked the album by the spinto band, so I will definitely take up the proposal (which also seems, moreover, peacefully summery). I will listen to it while sipping a grattachecca al tamarindo and I'll let you know.

I've never heard of them either: I'll definitely take note. A quick myspace check makes them seem interesting. They remind me of Geneva: his voice is very feminine. As for Merritt, I wasn't familiar with the Magnetic Fields, but I gave them a listen, and his voice does indeed resemble Berninger's.

What can I say, I only have Marchin' Already too, but it's an album that I haven't worn out. I've never really been fond of the OCS. Too sixties, really. On the other hand, "the day we caught the train" brings a tear to my eye as well... I don't think I'll be looking for this album. Is the cover the same as their old records, or am I wrong? Tremendously britpop, just that.

Having read the written version. Soon I want the oral one... :)

Odradek: review it! I only know the piece with the dadoso video. More than romantic, they seem to me to be ataraxic.

Thanks a go-go! One psycho thing: it's strange that those who appreciated Alligator denigrate Boxer. This one is just a bit quieter, but the style is the same. Thanks to Ramona for the drummer quote: it’s really deserved. @Ghemison: Berninger is also just the right amount of cynical, even if he’s not cyber-cynical. But I find this debaserian wave of (self-proclaimed) anti-romanticism suspicious...
Manic Street Preachers Send Away The Tigers

I have already expressed my doubts about this album, and in the meantime, they haven’t changed: it’s that very exposure of the trademark that doesn’t convince me. The rating is 2.5. "Autumn song" doesn’t seem like a good choice for a single, beyond the unfortunate seasonal discrepancy. I would have preferred "The second great depression," but perhaps anything else would have been better. Live, however, I would be curious to see them too, more out of nostalgia than current passion. Huge success, nonetheless, for this album (third review?). Too much?
Editors An End Has A Start
Voto:
Well done Mopà. A (semi)brutal review that I agree with. I listened to the new Interpol and Editors one after the other. I have to say that the first one beats the second by a good margin. Much more intense, even though not extraordinary. What a shame, especially since I didn't mind Smokers outside the hospital door and expected more. Do you remember our predictions about the second albums of British bands? In the end, no one has really made it...
Zita Swoon A Song About A Girls
Voto:
Mita on the zita. Rhyme and physics. Of many pieces of this record, I appreciate the live version (a bit more rhythmic and lively) played in "A band in a box" more. @trella: I think you could reopen the club registrations. I sense a Belgianism coming back in the air...
