Oh my God, don't say that!!! You're destroying Trella who came to listen to it just for Lua!!! Ehm, actually it's likely that she played it as an encore, but we dramatically missed it to catch the last train. Sigh, we liked to think that she didn't play it... :(

Thank you vitalogy: bright eyes I saw it too just the other day in Ferrara: I liked it a lot, except maybe when he was tossing flowers in a Sanremo-style manner...

Of course they did it (but for the second time, too soon...).

Memories of teenage parties. Gone Away has nothing to do with them, and that's why I've always liked it a lot.

I had already read this authoritative and reasoned opinion. I would say it doesn't deserve comments. Just one correction: Closed for business is a track from the eponymous EP, and it does not appear on Six. This suggests that the gentleman you mention likely has never listened to Six.

Ah, Lemuro, I don't understand it either. Your words are wise. But you must have read some reactions to the first review of this album here on Debaser or the scattered reviews on other sites. Or, more generally, to many reviews of any other vaguely mainstream album.

Interpol Our Love To Admire

The dark and abyssal groups, there’s little to say, inevitably become objects of cult worship. Just like Interpol. A lot is due to the lyrics, much to the anti-indie style. And then there’s the music, undeniably: it’s indisputable that Turn On The Bright Lights was, in its genre, a remarkable album. And I think, psycho, that at least that one will not fade. The others will. Antics certainly. This one too, even if it’s not bad (3.5/4). Like all dark and abyssal bands (perhaps artificially so), had they only released that album, they would have slowly risen, with the passing of increasingly "derivative" trends, into the cult realm of lost bands. Instead, they keep releasing music, to the joy (more or less wavering) of many aficionados and the annoyance of just as many detractors. And everyone has their good reasons. I liked the first album a lot. And this fairly decent Our Love To Admire doesn’t take away the subtly pleasant idea I would have if Interpol no longer existed.

I heard them live here in Padova a few months ago. A concert of "experimental electronics" while sitting on the comfortable armchairs of a cinema (which was, by the way, packed). An interesting experience, although I didn't have any significant physiological reactions. I mean, I wouldn't go see them again in the future, but I don't regret having done it. In fact, the complete absence of melody is quite disorienting. Ebbravo ghemison! (but, to be honest, have you listened to the album more than a couple of times? Is that possible?)
