Le Luci Della Centrale Elettrica Canzoni Da Spiaggia Deturpata

Monotony will have to destroy him on the next album: let's give him the perspective. A year ago, this guy was selling his demo for 5 euros after broken concerts in the most unlikely places. Time will tell. In any case, I believe that the demo had more power, authenticity, immediacy (hearing the two versions of "Nei garage a milano nord": the comparison is merciless). 3.5.

Padua bestial, Padua bestiary.
Gus Black Today Is Not The Day To Fuck With Gus Black

Prodigy, rev? Mmhm. Back in the days of the jilted generation, it would have been worth it. Ramò, I read the story of this jandek: he’s truly an unhealthy being. I like him a lot. The music, on the other hand, seems to fall into the big cauldron of the unlistenable. I’ll give it a listen!

No, Ramona, I've never heard of Jandek. Any contact with Gus? If so, I'm jumping in!

A book/film/soundtrack package of such high levels is truly hard to find. The film manages to convey all the tragedy and irony of the book, with a lightness that fully respects Eugenides' writing; which was no easy feat. What emerges is a captivating picture of adolescence: the dreamy girls, who falter in the face of difficulties and changes, the dazed boys, a bit outcast, who watch their lives and those of others as if in a trance, endowed only with a purely physical sensitivity. And they survive poorly, obsessed with the memory of adolescence and the sixteen-year-olds. And the sixteen-year-olds, like rock stars at the peak of success, are no longer there.
The Knife Deep Cuts

Pleasant album, with a few sluggish moments. Behind the bushes and Heartbeats are my favorites. And then there's that melody from Pass this on that I occasionally find stuck in my head, sly and silly. More than deep cuts from a knife, it feels like the itch of a tickle.
Death Cab for Cutie Narrow Stairs
Voto:
A mature album that manages to find a tasty compromise between the rougher sound of "Transatlanticism" and the gentle melodies of "Plans." Perhaps I am still more attached to the pop perfection of the latter, but "Narrow Stairs" did not disappoint me at all. It's worth mentioning the fact that there is a sensational fake circulating on the internet of a German band (whose singer has a voice quite similar to Gibbard's) that has confused quite a few reviewers online and beyond. A must-mention goes to "Rumore," which even named it album of the month, but based on the counterfeit version: a memorable blunder.

I’ve listened carefully in these days. I have to say it’s not a great album, but it is certainly a lively and pulsating work. It sounds murky, disturbing, teetering on the edge of unsettling, with nervous and tense sounds, and lyrics that are always very troubled. There’s more cohesiveness compared to previous albums, but I also find it less inventive, especially in the vocal parts (which in many tracks are reduced to a trimmed minute, as if cornered, and are often accompanied by background choirs that become tiring over time). In any case, it’s an album that leaves a mark. Very, very pathological. Immensely.
Get Cape. Wear Cape. Fly Searching For The Hows And Whys

Decent work, with a few songs that stand out (especially the ballads: Better things, Moving forward, Postcards from catalunya) and some moments of fatigue, due to the fact that Duckworth doesn’t seem to know many variations to his compositional style. As a result, he repeats himself, and sometimes the inspiration lags. Five stars seem excessive to me. In my opinion, it's a 3/3.5 album. Of course, here in Italy nobody really cares about it, while his radio-friendly folk-pop style could be quite appealing.

Eh, reverse, do you ride your bike around Turin? Brave, indeed! Killing Joke doesn’t excite me, and neither does Wire. I think I'm going to have a lean season for concerts, apart from Sherwood... After all, the big live event of this year for me was Portishead, and I've already missed them (sigh). Happy, Ole, that we at least have one genre in common! Enjoy your summer!
