Roger Waters Ça Ira
Voto:
For antoniodeste: That Waters is not the best bassist (in terms of technique) is undisputed. However, Waters remains a man who, with the little he knows (about technique), has created music of the highest level (of course, I’m not talking about technicalities). To be clear, Waters' musicality is excellent... lyrics and music that chase and describe the same objective. The parallelism with Strauss was a provocation (in response to Airone's intervention), of course. This "absurdity" was dictated by the fact that it seems unreasonable to compare two worlds and cultural backdrops that are vastly different (and let’s not even mention a 20-year gap! 1864 vs 2005!!). It is evident that in 1864, rock and the influences derived from it did not exist. The citation seemed incorrect to me (furthermore, in 1864, music was studied seriously, not like today where people improvise as musicians), that's all. If Waters feels the need to explore new horizons (new for him), then let it be... his musicality combined with novelty is capable of producing good results. I can only fully approve.

I love this CD! Crazy and extremely eclectic. Where do we put Bazaar Bizarre? FANTASTIC! I prefer Erpland to this one. The last albums are a bit repetitive. Anyway, this is essential Ozric. PS: The covers should be designed by Wynne himself (correct me if I'm wrong). Peppler is an amazing drummer. Great choice, but for me it's a full 5. :D PS: They play for fun and not to sell... and you can feel it... and see it at the concerts.

Very interesting. It's clear that Waters is not Strauss, both in terms of time period and musical culture. But Waters does more. He leaves behind the framework he has been attached to since the Floyd days and ventures onto dangerous ground for a rocker. Ground that presupposes a broader musical culture. Waters tries it without worrying about sales (he already has plenty of money... and if he really needs more, he just has to organize a tour... or not?) and brings forth something that no rocker has dared to do. Let's not fall into misleading easy comparisons; let's try to understand what has driven Waters in this direction and how this work sounds. In this field, Roger is not the leading exponent! I mean, would you picture Strauss with a bass in hand singing "Wish You Were Here"? Waters has always sought a "theatricality" in modern music... it was almost predictable that sooner or later he would flow into the classical. CD waiting to be purchased. How long is the album?
The Alan Parsons Project The Turn Of A Friendly Card
Voto:
For the naive: Edgar Allan Poe is the debut album of APP and not the sequel to Turn of a Friendly Card. Tales of Mystery and Imagination is almost a masterpiece on the B-side of the vinyl (at the time, we’re talking about 1976). In 1976, this album remains a true must-have and, perhaps, the true unavoidable masterpiece in the APP collection. It’s worth noting that the opening of the album is by Orson Welles (original voice). In the APP discography, Tales remains a milestone since it has never repeated its grandeur and ambition. Turn is beautiful, but in a way, less experimental. The Fall of the House of Usher (B-side of TOMAI EA POE) impressed me as a child (also thanks to the photographic material in the booklet). It was truly atmospheric. Hi and sorry for the logorrhea. :)

Thank you guys :D...
To Lestat: I write little because I'm often in search of more or less new groups. I like to go "hunting for talent" as if I were a truffle dog... and what a joy it is when I discover something new to share with you. Moreover, I write little because in the house where I live I don't have an internet connection.... anyway, back to the CD... download, download because these brothers from Europe (today more than ever close to us) have a truly surprising craving for "good things." Thank you and, as always, happy listening. Logic
PS: to Lestat: want a free gem? Download Tomato Jersey by Echolyn directly from their website (it's a double live album with the 2nd CD consisting of a single 50-minute track "mei"). ALL FOR FREE!!!!! :)

A great album of which the gold bug, correct me if I'm wrong, was used for some movie. In my opinion, the most beautiful album by APP is "Tales of Mystery and Imagination." This CD is on the same level as "Robot" and "Pyramid." About the review: it's a good start, but in the excitement, there are a few mishaps that ruin its fluency. Nothing that you won't be able to correct in the next review. Excellent suggestion...a hug. Logic :)

This album is anything but a litany. "Dark" atmospheres conceal a meticulously crafted and extremely pissed-off record. As for the lyrics? I wish I could write like Ferretti. I'm sorry Enk, but on this occasion, I really can't agree with you.
Peter Gabriel Passion: Music for the Last Temptation of Christ

I believe Gabriel's masterpiece... in my opinion. Not a seminal album but FUNDAMENTAL.
Mercury Rev All Is Dream

Interesting album but not apocalyptic (read: not the best), obviously to my personal taste. I agree with Sylvian (by the way, you know that the new Sylvian album is coming out, right? :P) about "deserter." In the end... I just can't stomach the singer's voice. However, I absolutely love "Spiders and flies." :)
PS: the review conveys the incorporeality of the sound.

of course the market isn't the devil. I've never thought it was. It's just that the market doesn't provide equal opportunities and visibility. Debaser, in this sense, is a network where people virtually meet and exchange music that often doesn't get sponsorship. From this perspective, it's a window into shared culture, the kind that's far from the spotlight. A hidden gem from the lights of the stage. Let me explain better. No one stops you from reviewing an artist that, for better or for worse, everyone listens to (because if it's not the radio, it's the TV, or the news, or the car of someone downstairs blasting music at 1 a.m. on certain nights!), the beauty is in exchanging and letting people know (read: sharing) about those who, due to lack of publicity, struggle to emerge. It’s the difference between industry and craftsmanship. The small workshop has to work three times harder and offer superior quality if it wants to stand out against the visibility of the shopping mall. Am I wrong? If you like Liga, no problem, but it would be nice to read about that cd you have in your drawer that many people are unaware of. Bye :)
