Great MrIko: essentially, a hit here and a hit there, we agree.
About Tommy - you provoke me... I've had all of Tommy and Quadrophenia, and when I say all, I mean I kept the ultradisc of Tommy... I agree with you, also about its superiority over The Wall, even if I find more references to other films than to Tommy (which, however, for Pelé and Maradona, we must acknowledge is produced better). But it’s undeniable that the film experience extracts it from the realm of "just albums," with all that follows. Do we want to discuss whether it’s one of the top 5 or top 10 rock albums? (I, by nature, don’t feel I can define the absolute winner if there’s no timer) Ok. But humanity has expressed other things beyond rock as well.

P.S.
Speaking of Atom Heart Mother, MrIko, do you remember "Hairless Heart," track 8 from "the lamb lies down on broadway" by Genesis? Shall we throw in some classical too? Let's start with Schumann, the Kinderszenen, track 12, "the infant falls asleep." It lasts 1 minute and 40 seconds. Let’s start with that and then we can also decide what is the most beautiful album in the history of mankind!
MrIko, you provoked me, and I’m going to devour you (and Rivo let’s give it to the cat...)

MrIko:
Your appreciation (re-listening to an album after the review is the best possible reward (besides giving it to me, but you’re homo)). Furthermore, elsewhere, I noticed that you know how to appreciate Joy Division, and for these two things, as soon as I have a moment, I’ll gift you a dedicated review. As a good scassa-whallera, however, allow me two considerations:
1) Why differentiate the evergreens from the others? Should Baggio and Signori play in a separate Serie A?
2) Tommy is a concept album; it gains a lot if you’ve seen the film (which is a good movie regardless of the music), but strictly on a musical level, many better ones come to mind. If you view it in the context of the entire project (as is natural after seeing the film), then why not talk, for example, about Jesus Christ Superstar? It becomes a complex discussion.

Dear Chinaski:
1) Regarding Rivo's ranking, I was wrong; you are right. As for Rivo, I must admit I find him likable; he seems knowledgeable and well-prepared in certain categories, but he exposes himself by commenting on genres that are not his own, and he even pontificates on these; of course, I'm teasing him a bit (and I've just started...) :-)
2) For "beauty," I, I would order the Police albums like this: Regatta de Blanc, Sync, Ghost in T M, Oulandos, Zenyatta, with the last two interchangeable depending on personal taste. However, Sync is certainly the most important. Those are his best works. Sting has carried them over from the second part of Sync, etc...

Dear Cleo, if you listen to Outlandos d'Amour, you will certainly appreciate Regatta de Blanc. Technically better, more homogeneous... I, but not only I, consider it superior. It is also more enjoyable than Sync (but let's not forget Bertrando's words: "Sync is the pinnacle"!).

... and anyway, this does not necessarily contradict what you assert (even if it is hard to reconcile), know that Paolo Bertrando (not just anyone) writes the following: "... Synchronicity is positioned opposite Ghost in the Machine, yet it completes it..."; furthermore "...Synchronicity is an unexpected classic, well contemplated by any rock history. For the Police, it is the peak."

... I fully agree on By the Way, but then will you include it in the personal ranking?!? I respect you to the point that I listened to Sleeping with Ghosts (3 times in 2 days China) just because I read your review, only to realize that it’s worth no more than 2/5. I could be wrong, you compare Norman Cook (who is a DJ, and a producer, remember Dub Be Good To Me) with Moby (who is first and foremost a composer), I might be mistaken, but, no offense, with the sincerest respect for you, MA-A-RIVO-MA-TU-DE-MUSICA-NON-C'HAI -MAI-CAPITO-UN-CAZZO!

Rivo: I appreciate the amount of reviews you've written; I appreciate that you listen to a lot of material, probably more than I can; I also really appreciate the fact that you don't give more than 4/5 to albums that, even if they excite you, haven't been out for a year yet... You also have a nice haircut... however, I had some doubts when you panned Noir Désir, and again when you write about Subsonica...

Chinaski: Synchronicity is not an easy album, perhaps the most difficult of the Police; however, you can't stop at the first listen. I hated Tarkus, the Vate sold the first Living Colour at the first listen (Vate, are you reading? Do you remember?). But be careful. By the way, if you like Dummy, you can't not like Synch.
