I've always appreciated him a lot as an artist, especially with the jewelry "Habemus Capa" (unreachable), but with this album, my admiration has really dropped. It's extremely commercial, a pseudo-concept that doesn't hold up even if you pay for it, with only three or four salvageable tracks in total. Really lovely. One of the best releases of this year (even though the Mars Volta influence is quite evident). A rounded 3.5 for encouragement.

The so-called "big bricks"! Hehe :) I'm listening to it now for the first time and I have to admit I'm finding it quite challenging, given the extremely familiar sound (in a negative sense, I mean). I haven't heard this, but I already know that the post-Zeppelin Plant is still excellent. Highly recommended "Raising Sand" from last year with Alison Krauss.

In fact, no one has ever said that Child in Time isn't plagiarism, just that it's much more beautiful than Bombay Calling (and I actually liked that album by It's a Beautiful Day).
