I basically share your judgment. Too confused, and with too much going on, to be truly effective. However, many do not think like us, considering it Todd's third consecutive masterpiece.

@6+9: of course, those like me and probably you, who write on this site for fun and leisure, seeking, as readers, something unexpected, as long as it is presented with intelligence and grace, can only be disappointed that some self-proclaim themselves as film critics, writing in their reviews what can be found, with much more professionalism, in a Mereghetti or Farinotti.

@supersoul: you're right, usually I do it but this time I forgot: 1972.

I would have liked to review it myself, after Deface the Music. Great product and nice review (mien_o_man seems to betray a background in legal studies...)

I will explain the last sentence that has caused so much astonishment: time erases differences, and, indeed, it confuses right and wrong, virtue and vice, great figures and the unknown. This is assuming an infinite time: thus, in an infinite future, Fellini, Castellano & Pipolo, to paraphrase Borges, will be everything - they will be nothing - having passed away. This perspective should teach everyone to relativize values, even though I do not deny that in THIS present 8½ is better than Grand Hotel (I am not blind!). Best regards.

Sorry Poletti, read Borges' "The Immortal City" (in "The Aleph") and you’ll understand the meaning of the phrase, as well as the entire review. Or listen to De André's "Coda di Lupo" in the same terms. Then let me know.

Beautiful review and great album that I had been planning to review for a while. Rundgren's encyclopedic talent is undeniable, although sometimes I think his overflowing ego has led him to record works that, when listened to years later, are somewhat disappointing (Todd, Faithfull).
Dario Argento Non ho sonno

@primi: same here, but I'm obviously a pessimist about Argento's fate. You must agree that his decline is disconcerting; I wouldn't say it's comparable to that of a Brass, but it's not far off.

@black: the story of the thick ankles is well known... Rupert Everett mentions it in his book. Speaking of gays, I've never figured out if De Sica - Conticini is a rumor or not. As for the best (most talented) Italian actresses of all time: 1) Magnani; 2) Vitti; 3) Tina Pica - Titina de Filippo. The most beautiful: 1) Laura Antonelli; 2) Eleonora Giorgi; 3) Claudia Cardinale.

The rumors about the third mother speak of an Argento back to his peak levels, but I wouldn’t want them to be just illusions.
