The Beatles Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band

Well... SoloperAdulti, I think it's true that 80% of the members of various groups – especially those born in the late '60s – started playing to "imitate" the four from Liverpool or to achieve a similar success to theirs. But, in reality, the music played by the Beatles didn't have that much influence outside of what is now derogatorily called "brit pop." Then again, these are personal opinions and matters of taste: personally, I find more emotion in a "Bold as Love" by Hendrix, a "You Really Got Me" by the Kinks, a "I Can See for Miles" by The Who, or a "Gimme Shelter" by the Rolling Stones. This is the music I enjoy, although I'm not here to say that the Beatles are worthless or that they suck. In summary, all the rock I know comes from the blues and hard blues (including grunge, stoner), not from the Beatles.

Well... in my post above, I made a list of over ten artists better than the Beatles, and everyone was scolding the poor reviewer. Sure, the fab four were great, but above all a huge commercial phenomenon. Furthermore, they didn’t influence rock at all (the names above are the influential ones), but pop. However, saying these things makes you look crazy or foolish, so it’s better to just keep those thoughts to yourself.

Yes, there are many solos. If you are new to the genre, you might enjoy the album as much as "In Rock." The use of the Hammond is less classical than Lord's, but just as powerful, especially in the opening track Gipsy.

Nice review Il_Paolo: I could hardly disagree with you, after all. As for Poletti in his prefica version, it seems to me that his laments speak for themselves: his elitist (not elite) view of cinematic culture (Bergman, Fellini, Welles) comes across as childish. Personally, I believe it is futile to impose the enjoyment of cinema in schools, which have ALWAYS been a place for messing around. Art, taste, and its enjoyment are individual, private matters. Poletti, relax with a nice Banana Joe, it’s better.

@grant: I'm sending you directly to two reviews of the Beatles that I wrote and that have already been widely mocked. The "finally" means: finally someone who strays from the mainstream narrative. I must say, however, that Rubber Soul, this one, and Abbey Road are excellent albums. But - and I don't mean to offend anyone - from that era, I prefer these, in order of quality: 1) Rolling Stones; 2) The Who; 3) The Beach Boys; 4) The Yardbirds; 5) The Kinks. Not to mention Frank Zappa, the Grateful Dead, Pink Floyd, or especially Jimi Hendrix.

Poletti, sit back, and enjoy this review as the ultimate form of resistance to conformity. Banana Joe as an icon of the new left?

I remember Bud Spencer in a significant role in "Quattro mosche di velluto grigio." I also notice a subtle political vein in your review (regardless of what you describe as Bud's political "drifts," having been shut out in the regional elections of Lazio under the banners of FI), in the part where you seem to be telling us that South America is here, while on the other hand, Banana Joe is a forerunner of the no global movement. Well done!
