Savatage The Wake Of Magellan
Voto:
The review is truly engaging, but I haven't listened to the album. The first album I heard by 'Tage is "Hall of The Mountain King": incredible sound, and right after that, we listen to Grieg's "Peer Gynt." The cover of "The Wake Of Magellan" reminds me of an image from the Encyclopedia of 15, regarding St. Elmo's fires... but look what comes to my mind: DDDD

This album is absolutely amazing, truly impressive, and the review is excellent. Words and music intertwine, creating a chilling image in our minds that prompts reflection. A movie with Dennis Quaid came to mind that spoke about... or maybe I'm confusing things..."Savior" is the title. I still have it on cassette, and now I'm re-digesting it on CD, with your review printed on a sheet; DDDD
S.O.D. Speak English Or Die

Hi night, it seems that this is the only one I haven't commented on, so here I am... nothing, I've always thought this was an even thrashier album than one might think, especially for the sound. It was composed in 3 days and Billy Milano and Nuclear Assault took it as a starting point. I absolutely love "Pussy Whiped" but also "Kill Yourself" and even the riff (imitated by many) of "Fist Banging Mania". Can you believe that in an interview with Nevermore during the time of "Dreaming Neon Black", I can't remember if it was Jeff Loomis or Jim Sheppard, they stated that one of their favorite works was actually the debut of S.O.D; they described it as a splendid example of "progressive thrash". I wonder what they meant. See you soon then night, bye:DDDDDDDDDDDDD

"I've seen 'The Hellhound' and I've never liked it. This is a good movie and the review is good too."

@vellutogrigio + ocram, that encyclopedia is still my "bible" now; if I’m not mistaken, there’s a caricature of a guitarist on the cover. Coming back from Asiago about 15 years ago, I found a guide to hard rock that goes up to around 1983 and even there they talked about Max Webster.

Well, thank goodness everything has been clarified; anyway, before charging ahead and insulting someone, at least ask them for the meaning of their comment and then go in with the napalm. It reminds me of the movie "Condannato a morte per mancanza di indizi." I also couldn't manage to write on debaser without being insulted; I was hoping to avoid it... but anyway, the important thing is to clear things up. Hi everyone :DD

Sublime review, truly a wonderful comeback. I've had them sitting in the drawer for months, but now I’m listening to them right away while reading the review; the closing is very effective, entertaining, and there's a great balance of metaphors and images. Between this one and Bartle's review on Exumer, there's the perfect manual for reviewing thrash. Well done and welcome back:DDDD
