@II_Paolo: a few years ago, "Goldrake" was covered, slowed down. Regarding Judas Priest, I think the two covers they did with the bird of prey "Hellion" and the ...uhm... monster "Metallian" are completely absurd, a poor imitation of Danguard, Jeeg Robot, and the gang. I don't remember the musical references you mentioned, but in some reviews I write about thrash or heavy, I'd feel like being more ironic, rather than just referencing cartoon themes.
