Overkill From The Underground And Below

Good review. I totally agree with the judgment. I would add that this album gives more space to Joe Comeau, a unique case (perhaps) in the history of thrash of an excellent singer who chooses to play guitar and downsize to a backing vocalist. F.U.C.T is my favorite track; it's unclear why they decided to play few solos, as they were effective on The Killing Kind.

Certifiable is a great track, my favorite. The whole album is OK. I wonder how hard it was for Joe Comeau not to sing alone on this album; he only does on God Like. Nice review. In the CD I bought, there’s also the bonus track Killogy, which is the b-side of the single Spiritual Void from I Hear Black: I can’t figure out when it was released. Maybe between Horrorscope and I Hear Black; the drummer sounds like Sid Falck.

Thank you all! For Sfascia: your vinyl is the original one that I missed out on back in the day, while my CD is a reissue.

Thank you all! You’re right about seniority, Tepes, but I had already written it by then.

The review is excellent and I agree with the content. I've listened to it countless times and this album always "works." Splattered is deadly. The artwork evokes unease, just like the themes addressed in the lyrics.

Nice review, which analyzes the songs with criteria; I would have liked to review it. The explanation for the lack of success of this album is provided by the vocalist Blitz, on the occasion of the release of Necroshine. Talking about I Hear Black, he stated that he found himself working with three composers: Gant, Cannavino, and Verni, so their influences can be heard. Usually, the duo Blitz-Verni handled the songwriting, and indeed in the subsequent W.F.O they imposed on the guitar tandem not to write anything. If this album had been a mini LP, it wouldn't have been bad: World Of Hurt and Shades Of Grey are good songs. Bye!

Never heard of them. So great at digging them up, while in the review you should talk a bit more about the tracks. I have Annihilation Principle on vinyl but I will never review it. So go ahead; my next move will be for Sento Nero by Overkill, talking about famous bands, of course. For the unknown ones, I have the first two by Thanatos, the Dutch death band. Hello everyone.

I couldn't stand Flemming, but after reading this review and listening to the vinyl again, I have to admit I've changed my mind. The instrumental parts are excellent. Somewhere I even have an interview with the singer who claimed he had "prostituted" himself musically to make ends meet. Great review and very knowledgeable. Don't believe is my favorite track. Bye!

Thank you Bartle, you are very kind, and indeed you are not completely wrong. I am preparing something more well-known, even though time is tight. The quality I lack in reviews, just like in everyday life, is confidence in myself. I don’t even know where I found the strength to write here: it was my wife who encouraged me, who told me to write what I thought and what I felt inside. In any case, I am just getting started, and the fear has already passed.
