Peter Gabriel Passion: Music for the Last Temptation of Christ

Yes, it's a film that is based on an apocryphal Gospel, and that's precisely why it sparked a torrent of discussions. Certainly, Gibson's The Passion is highly sensationalized; seeing those hectoliters of blood for too long doesn't lend credibility to its religious intentions. It's not enough to have the film speak in Aramaic to make it realistic, and watching it again now, it's clear that it was a move made to cleverly attract public opinion and audiences.

FedeHetfield, you’re really something! I give the album a 2 just because I liked it a bit when it came out, but now it’s turned into the usual Vasco Rossi disc that makes all of Italy swoon. Can you believe that that crap "Musica" from Repubblica gave it 5 stars and included it among the best albums of 2004, at the expense of Interpol’s "Antics"? What a disgrace. The only flaw in the review is this comparison with Gigi D'Alessio that I find frankly excessive, even though let’s be clear, I really don’t like Rossi anymore.

By now, even Morrissey feels at home; he was determined to record the album in the capital at all costs.

I was watching it at a friend's house, but I couldn't follow it properly. I'll try to borrow it since it's a Scorsese film, they always show it on TV...

Sorry.. I meant to say that every ONCE IN A WHILE someone reviews it with particular passion.

One of the greatest Italian albums of all time, without a doubt. Moreover, I reviewed it not long ago and I must say that everyone, with rightful passion, should remember it properly.

In fact, someone might think it was shot like a commercial, but I found it very funny and "Italian."

I mean, such a touching album is unique in Peter's career. He had already left an indelible mark in World Music with de Andrè's Creuza de Ma, but here it's different: it was about composing the Passion of Christ with a more spiritual and authentic approach, filtering it through the Gabrielian sensitivity that always ends up coming to the surface.

Tell me out of curiosity, Sylvian: why did your review of Massimo Volume provoke controversy? Did everyone prefer Lungo i Bordi by any chance?

Walter, do you want some advice? Since you’ve taken on Hot Space, why don’t you try reviewing the worst albums of the Thin White Duke, like Tonight or Never Let Me Down? I’m really curious… I’m sorry for stealing the nickname, but I registered first.
